Beaumarchais may be 'Bakeries' Bound
The Informant reports:

Beaumarchais will head to the central districts for his next start and a bold showing will see him travel further afield.

The two-time winner, who finished runner-up in last season's Gr. 3 Manawatu Classic and fourth in the Gr. 1 New Zealand Derby, will step out in the Gr. 3 Anuka Smoker Thompson Handicap at Trentham on Saturday week.

“If he performs well, he'll keep going south to Christchurch for the Coupland's Bakeries Mile,” co-trainer Jamie Richards said.

Beaumarchais recently resumed at Ruakaka where he finished third over 1400 metres.

“We're very pleased with him, it was hard to make ground from the back there and he did that,” Richards said.
