Riccarton Park Trackwork Update

|Riccarton Park track work highlights - Tuesday 6 November -

Riccarton Park presented in dry, calm, warm conditions for this morning's session for which both the plough and the big trial grass were open for fast work. The grass provided a firm surface and times were fast.

On the grass the best of the morning came from the Pitman trained Mr Typhon (Shaikh) and Enzo”s Lad (Chowdhoory) who went together from the 1000m in 1.03.6 but picking the tempo significantly over the final 600m which took only 33.1. Stablemates Sensei (Chowdhoory) and Barabas (Gestain) recorded the fastest 1000m on the grass this morning, cutting it out in 58.9, the last 600m in 34.3.

Montoya Star (Shaikh) impressed when galloping with Pinup Coup (Morgenrood) over 1000m in1.02.5, the final 600m in 34.6 with Montoya Star very strong to the finish. The Peter Rudkin trained Zah Wanted (Robertson) is an improved galloper and this morning looked sharp when alone from the 1000m in 1.00.9, the last 600m in 34.4. Volcano (Jamie) and Gotta Habit (Orange) impressed when together they covered 800m in 47.2, the last 600m in 34.6.

Why Me (Shaikh) and Morse Code (Morgenrood) were together from the 1000m in 1.00.6, the final 600m in 34.7. Anzac Coup (Shaikh) and Swiss Maestro (Morgenrood) both continue to work well - they were timed from the 1000m in 1.01.6, the final 600m in 35.9. Secret Delight (Khan) was solo from the 1000m in 1.03.8, the last 600m in 35.0. Fairlight (Downing) was also alone from the 1000m on the grass in 1.05.2, the 600m in 35.8.

On the plough the best of the morning came from the Hughes trained Emily Margaret (Tootooa) and Brother Will (Robertson) which galloped together over 800m in a slick 46.2, the last 600m in 35.2. The Te Akau pair of Unfazed (P Richards) and Conclusion (Kararuddin) went together on the plough from the 1000m in 1.03.2, the last 600m in 35.6.

In A Twinkling (P Richards) and Publicist (Kararuddin) also impressed when together they ran their 1000m in 1.03.2, the final 600m in 35.6. Red River Rock (Carston) and Hannah Marene (Asano) were timed together from the 800m in 51.2, quickening over the last 600m in 35.9.

Prom Queen (K Rae) breezed up the straight on the plough over 600m in 35.5, the last 400m in 23.2. Allbut Me (Toolooa) was alone from the 1000m in 1.02.0, easing a little towards the line for the last 600m in 37.4. Strowan (Carston) went alone over 800m in 53.2, the last 600m in 37.8. Wide Awake (P Richards) was timed from the 1000m in 1.05.8, the last 600m in 37.8.

Others on the grass to impress included Son of Maher (Shaikh) which was solo from the 1000m in 1.02.4, the last 600m in 35.2. Ishinktaatledo (Young) galloped alone from the 800m in 48.3, the last 600m in 35.9. Cinto Bay (Downing) galloped with an unnamed companion from the Didham stable over 800m in 48.8, the last 600m in 35.9.

Bon Genre (Taylor) worked strongly from the 1200m in 1.14.9, the last 600m in 36.4. Carson's River (Morgenrood) and Zakynthos (Shaikh) were together on the grass from the 1000m in 1.01.3, the final 600m in 36.5. Laphroaig (Richards) and Oceans of Champagne (Rinlin) were together from the 1000m on the grass in 1.05.0, the last 600m in 36.9.

Others on the grass with 1000m and 600m sectionals were Imelda's Girl (Bebey) and Longford (Downing) in 1.00.8 and 36.6, Gloss and Magic Note (Gestain) in 59.9 and 36.7, Coup Dreamwood (Morgenrood) and Smiling Assasin (Shaikh) in 1.05.7 and 39.9 and Cinnamon Kiss in 1.10.5 and 39.2.

Elfee (Morgenwood) on the grass galloped 800m in 49.7 and from the 600m 37.5. Thatladyrocs (Thacker) went from the 1400m in 1.33, the last 600m in 37.7. Jackson Road (Young) was alone over 800m in 50.7. He's Gold (Murphy) was paired with Sabrage (Saejorhor) and they went together from the 800m in 51.6, the final 600m in 38.4.

Others on the plough included So Brazen (Morgenrood) which was alone from the 800m in 50.4, the final 400m in 25.3. Mr Insanity (Crozer) was timed from the 1000m in 1.12.6 and the 600m in 39.2. Ayhum (Hill) and Taimanu (Saejorhor) were together over 1000m in 1.05.3, the last 600m in 39.0.

Those to three-quarter pace on the plough included Remington, Swing Note, Sulcifera, The Real Deal, Blue Lagoon, Bak Da Master and Kaharau.

 

Riccarton Park track work highlights - Thursday 8 November -

 

Both the big trial grass and the plough were open for this morning's session which was conducted in warm, dry conditions with a firm grass surface producing fast times.

Best on the grass again came in the form of the Pitman speedster Sensei (Chowdhoory) who had the edge on his stablemate Barabas at the end of 1000m in 1.01.9 and getting to the finish strongly for the final 600m in 33.4. Sensei will prove very hard to beat in Saturday's Pegasus Stakes over 1000m

Miroslava (Shaikh) is also an acceptor on Saturday and cut out some impressive work when alone from the 1000m in 1.01.5, the last 600m in 33.4. The Hughes trained pair of Allbut Me (Toolooa) and Ticky Tu (Robertson) caught the eye in rattling off 800m in 46.9, the last 600m in 33.5. Allbut Me gets his chance in Saturday's R65 over 1600m.

Morse Code (Morgan) and Enzo's Lad (Morgenrood) went together on the grass from the 1000m in 1,01.7, the final 600m in 33.5 and even quicker over the 1000m were stablemates in Magic Note (Morgan) and Gloss (Gestain) who for the same sectionals recorded 59.6 and 33.9. Pinup Coup (Morgenrood) and Montoya Star (Morris) achieved similar work in recording 1.00.9, the last 600m in 34.3.

Carson's River (Morris) was solo from the 800m 46.8 with the last 600m in 34.9. Yamato Nadeshiko (Jonker) which has been both working and racing well continues to impress. From the 1000m she showed she is ready again when alone on the grass she went 1.01.6, the final 600m in 35.6. Selfie (Taylor) looks ready for Saturday and breezed up the straight, timed from the 400m in 23.5.

On the plough the best of the morning came from the Prendergast trained pair of Who Dares Wins (Laking) and Vantaa (Mosely) who together from the 800m recorded 48.7 with the final 600m in 35.4. Boots N All galloped well alone from the 1000m in 1.06.8, speeding up for the final 600m in 36.9.

Also on the plough the Te Akau pair of Remington (P Richards) and Unfazed (Kararuddin) went together over 1000m in 1.11.5, the last 600m in 37.2. Ross Beckett's Blair Flight (Moseley) worked nicely with the Didham trained Jin Lu (Didham) over 800m in 50.3, the last 600m in 37.7 with Blair Flight gaining a clear advantage at the finish. Maiden galloper Rothacker (Laking) worked well alone on the plough from the 1000m in 1.08.8, the last 600m in 38.9.

On the grass So Brazen (Morgan) and Coup Dreamwood (Morris) went together from the 1000m in 1.01.6, the final 600m in 35.9. Both are acceptors for Saturday's R65 1600m. For the same sectionals Zakynthos (Shaikh) and Why Me (Gestain) recorded 1.00.0 and 36.5, Elfee (Morgenrood) alone went 1.07.6 and 37.6, Smiling Assasin (Shaikh) went 1.04.0 and 39.0, Taimanu (Saejorhor) went 1.09.9 and 39.5 and Nowhere Man having just started to speed up in his work recorded 1.17.5 and 42.8.

Anzac Coup (Chowdhoory) was timed for his final 600m in 35.8 while Franglais (Saejorhor) went solo over the same journey in 36.8 and Oreo (Hill) in 38.9, Freight Train Jane (Young) and Wilorai (Richards) were together on the grass over 600m in 39.2. Ottavio (Rogerson) galloped from the 800m alone in 49.3 and from the 400m in 23.4. Also on the grass was Highly Unlikely (Chowdhoory) which was alone from the 800m in 54.2 and the 600m in 40.9, and Ferrocious (R Mudoo) which went over 1000m in 1.15.8, the last 600m in 37.8.

Others on the plough were the Te Akau pair of Wide Awake (P Richards) which went over 1200m in 1.34.2 and Swing Note (Kararuddin) which for the same journey took 1.31.7. Also paceworking were Emily Margaret, Summer Monsoon, Challa, Miss Scandanavia and Conclusion.

In A Twinkling (P Richards) went over 800m on the plough in 52.3 and 600m in 39.2. Lake Chalice (Richards) went 1000m in 1.12.9 and for the same journey Zentessa (Richards) recorded 1.11.7. Hot Fuss (K Mudoo) went over 800m in 53.9 and 600m in 40.8. Non Blonde (Kwo) galloped from the 600m in 40.5. Tavigood (Rogerson) was on the plough solo over 1000m in 1.10.8, the last 600m in 41.9. Mrs Blackie's Diplomat (Mosely) was alone over 600m in 40.8.
