Te Akau Friday Update
David writes:

The great thing about horse racing is that there is a winning post every week thus we all can get 'judged' by how we perform.

Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards have only have their training partnership in place for two full seasons and already they have won 36 black type races including 11 Group 1 wins and 2 Karaka 2YO Milion victories with about $8,5 million in prize money won.

Isn't that incredible?  They can only achieve these types of results if they have the very best team and the best owners - and Te Akau is privileged to have both!

I am picking that this success will continue because we also have the most amazing yearlings ever purchased by Te Akau - and the grass that they are all on now really does help give them an amazing start to their racing careers.

There is not one yearling that I would send back - all 30 are as good a quality as I have ever seen here at the farm!

Here are some photos I took today of the farm and of Gingernuts:

As I go around the farm each day, there is one really cheeky colt with a huge personality that keeps coming up to me!  Have a look at this colt on our "Yearlings & Shares" page - Lot 648 - our Pins colt from Thee Achiever.

This colt could well be in both the Karaka Million two year old race and the next year in the Karaka Million three year old race.  Have a closer look at him, and watch the video of him ... and don't say that I didn't try to tip you in to a good horse!

He was great buying - a 10% share is $10,800 +GST, and a 5% share just $5,400 +GST -  he has a beautiful pedigree - and really has the air of confidence about him - take a look at his video on the shares' page.

This weekend Te Akau has horses racing in three countries - New Zealand, Australia and in Singapore.  Mark Walker is naturally in Singapore, Steve is in Melbourne (with Embellish), Jamie is in Sydney (for Melody Belle) and 'team leader' will be at Ellerslie.

Best of luck to all our owners this weekend - and GO THE TANGERINE!
