Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has fourteen horses racing on Friday 18 January at Kranji.  Te Akau trainer Mark Walker currently lies second on the Trainers' Premiership with three wins this season.

11.20 p.m. R1 1 Heart of Courage (4 g Fastnet Rock - Myrrh) - Razali Zawari (a1); draws barrier 9 of 11 in the $38,000 Kranji D 1200 metres on the turf and carries 57kgs.  While the distance is too short at this first stage of his new preparation, he resumes without a trial to rate a sneaky place chance.  One of two in the race for the stable.

11.20 p.m. R1 7 Clarton Palace (3 g Minstrel Court - Zabba) - Daniel Moor; will bounce from two gates to the inside of his stable mate (7 of 11) and carries 55kgs. He requires a drop back to Class 5 to make a positive impact.

11.50 p.m. R2 1 Calvados (4 g Iffraaj - Colombelle) - Glen Boss; another race with two starters for Mark Walker, where the first draws best (6 of 14) in the $20,000 Maiden 1400 metres on the turf and carries 58kgs. He might be better suited to wet tracks in Malaysia for his future racing.

11.50 p.m. R2 3 Accumulation (4 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - Nooresh Juglall; the second stable rep. cops a wide draw at barrier 13 in the same event and carries 58kgs. He rates a top three chance if he can overcome the wide alley.

12.20 a.m. R3 3 Lim's Reform (7 g O'Reilly - Pretty) - Troy See (a1); will jump from barrier 6 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf, with 56kgs on his back. He always races well fresh and rates a top four chance.

12.50 a.m. R4 1 Sacred Don (4 g Fastnet Rock - Donatella) - Vlad Duric; draws barrier 8 of 13 in the $20,000 Maiden 1400 metres on turf and carries 58kgs. He ran a nice second last start and presents as a top four chance.

1.20 a.m. R5 2 Sacred Tonic (4 g Pour Moi - Fairy Tipsy) - Glen Boss; a dual attack for the stable here with the first runner drawing gate 9 of 10 in the $38,000 Kranji D 1200 metres on the turf, and being assigned 58kgs. He too might be better suited to wet tracks in Malaysia.

1.20 a.m. R5 3 Alamosa Express (5 g Alamosa - Dane Whisper) - Vlad Duric; the stablemate draws barrier 5 in the field of 10 and carries 58kgs. He sprints well fresh and rates a top four chance.

1.55 a.m. R6 1 Elite Power (4 g Sakhee's Secret - London Welsh) - Vlad Duric; the first runner of the stable duo in this $70,000 Class 3 1000 metres on the polytrack draws barrier 8 of 12 and carries 57kgs. He looks in great order and should prove hard to beat first-up.

1.55 a.m. R6 7 Lim's Knight (6 g Kaphero - Solamina) - Nooresh Juglall; also engaged in the Class 3 1000 metres, he draws out at 10 in the field of 12 and carries 52kgs. He requires a drop back to Class 4 to make his presence felt.

2.25 a.m. R7 8 Viviano (7 g Keeper - Flying Florence) - Nooresh Juglall; the tough campaigner will break from gate 10 of 11 in the $100,000 Class 1 1200 metres on the turf and carries 50kgs. He needs rain and also unfortunately a ton of luck from the draw.

2.25 a.m. R7 9 Kingsman (5 g Darci Brahma - Society Lady) - Glen Boss; the stablemate draws much better (5 of 11) in the Class 1 1200 metres and also carries only 50kgs. He meets a tough field, but rates a top four chance fresh-up.

3.00 a.m. R8 1 Atlantic Fox (5 g Savabeel - Kinsella) - Razali Zawari (a1); he draws a handy gate (2 of 12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 56kgs. He requires more distance, but could go a cheeky race fresh-up.  One of two in the event for Mark Walker.

3.00 a.m. R8 11 Heartlight (4 g Any Suggestion - Cross Quarry) - Nooresh Juglall; completes the evening and draws barrier 9 of 12 in the $50,000 event with 54.5kgs to carry. He needs rain.
