Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview
Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker leads the 2017 Trainers' Premiership with 64 wins since 1 January - a lead of 22 wins.

Friday 18 August -

10.50 p.m. R1 8 MISS WAIMATAITAI - Vlad Duric; draws five of 12 runners in the Class 5 1200m on the polytrack where he carries 56kgs. A mare with attitude, even now as a 5YO, she has however been racing consistently with a third, second and fourth from her last three starts - when she behaves!   She has drawn a much better gate this time and with the plan to ride her forward - she rates a top four chance.

11.20 p.m. R2 1 HIDDEN PROMISE - Shafiq Rizuan; a wide draw (9 of 10) in the Kranji Stakes D SW 1600m on the polytrack for this son of Postponed raced by the Fortuna team.  With 58kgs on his back, he's another coming in with a solid form line including a win two starts ago (6-2-4-1-3).  The mile suits and he has the potential to feature in the top four.

11.50 p.m. R3 4 BIG REGARDS - Vlad Duric; a son of Darci Brahma, the Champion Singapore sire, he draws the ace for the Class 5 1200m on the polytrack and is weighted with 55.5kgs.  Facing a 12-strong field, he needs to lift.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R4 2 OBSTACLES FREE - App R Zawari (a2); jumping from gate four, this 4YO son of Coats Choice will carry 57kgs with the apprentice aboard in the Class 5 1000m sprint on the polytrack.  In this compact field of only seven starters, he will be looking for better luck that he received last time out - in this small field, a top four chance.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R5 1 MIGHTY CONQUEROR - App R Zawari (a2); draws six and will carry 57.5kgs with the apprentice claim in the Kranji Stakes D SW over 1100m on the polytrack.  A 5YO son of Patapan, he is in formidable form with two wins and two second placings from his last five appearances - the wins coming back to back at his last two outings.  In a field with depth, he squares off against nine opponents and is on the quick back up but with his current form - a top four chance.

1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R6 7 CLERMONT CLUB - App CK Ng (a3); another runner for Mark Walker having the benefit of an apprentice allowance, he carries the featherweight of only 47.5kgs in the Class 5 1800m on the polytrack.  Drawn gate one in this field of 12, the now 8YO more than likely needs division two - this field looks a little tough.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R7 2 UNSURPASSED - Vlad Duric; this 5YO son of Exceed and Excel has won two of his last five starts and been close by in between - tonight he draws barrier six of 10 starters for the Class 4 1100m on the polytrack and has 57kgs allocated.  In this S$60,000 event, the blinker/pacifiers go back on and he presents as a top four chance.
