Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 and 2017 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker has recorded 40 wins, 55 second and 46 third placings since 1 January - including a Group 1 quinella in the Charity Bowl to add to the season's two Group 2 victories.  He currently lies fourth on the Trainers' Premiership.

5.50 p.m. R1 2 Northern Knight (7 g Sir Percy - Pesky) - Ryan Curatolo; draws the outside barrier (11) in the $38,000 Kranji D 1200 metres on turf and carries 58kgs. He is relocating to race in Malaysia, but remains a chance on a wet track.

6.20 p.m. R2 1 Another Show (3 g Showcasing - Tiaralae) - Ryan Curatolo; draws barrier 1 of 10 on debut in the $85,000 Restricted Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. He is a horse that will require more distance.

7.20 p.m. R4 2 Accumulation (4 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - Ryan Curatolo; draws barrier 6 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on turf and carries 57.5kgs. He is in good form, with three second placings from his last four starts, and he rates a top four chance - one of two in the race for Mark Walker.

7.20 p.m. R4 3 Lim's Rhythm (4 g Rock ‘N' Pop - Paixanito) - Vlad Duric; the second for the stable draws barrier 11 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on turf and carries 57.5kgs. He is another enjoying good form and presents as a top four chance if he can get luck from the wide draw.

7.55 p.m. R5 7 Venus De Milo (4 m Burgundy - Breezed) - Ryan Curatolo; draws barrier 1 of 12 in the $20,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. Racing well, she deserves a win, and rates a top four chance.

8.30 p.m. R6 9 Super Emperor (4 g All Too Hard - Fasline) - Ryan Curatolo; draws barrier 4 of 12 in the $45,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 55kgs. He is having his first start in Singapore, and has trialled nicely - a top four chance.

9.35 p.m. R8 10 Sacred Sea (5 g Sea the Stars - Gipsy Countess) - Ryan Curatolo; draws barrier 10 of 11 in the $80,000 Kranji C 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 55kgs. A last start winner, he does however face a much tougher field today - place chance.

10.05 p.m. R9 3 Prince Pegasus (5 g Beneteau - Sassy Peg) - Ryan Curatolo; draws barrier 10 of 12 in the $80,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 56kgs. He is having his Singapore debut this evening but unfortunately has copped a tough draw and so presents as a place chance - one of three in the event for the stable.

10.05 p.m. R9 12 Sportscaster (5 g Fastnet Rock - Gypsy Dancer) - MM Firdaus (a1); the second for the stable draws well as barrier 1 of 12 in the $80,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 51.5kgs. Another on his Singapore debut tonight, he is the type that may be more competitive when he drops back to Class 4 company.

10.05 p.m. R9 13 Ben Gunn (4 g Tagula - Henrietta Mews) - Craig Grylls; the final stable rep. will jump from barrier 5 of 12 in the $80,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 51.5kgs, however he sits first on the ballot and is unlikely to make the field.

10.35 p.m. R10 3 Lim's Zoom (4 g Zacinto - Sound Decision) - Razali Zawari (a1); twos horses in the 10th race to complete the stable's representation - draws nicely at barrier 2 of 12 in the $45,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 55.5kgs. He is in good form, with a win and three seconds from his last five starts, and rates a top four chance from handy gate.

10.35 p.m. R10 8 Black Quail (5 g Coats Choice - Sefidi) - Vlad Duric; the second and last for Mark Walker draws barrier 6 of 12 in the $45,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 55kgs. In good form, with a third and two seconds this time in, and a top four chance especially on a wet track.
