GOLD COAST YEARLING SALE – Lot 1833 Camelot/Satirical Lady bay filly

Show pedigree

Lot 1833 b. f. Camelot – Satirical Lady (Giant’s Causeway) $110,000 plus GST (draft: Coolmore Stud)

“We have been very impressed with the Camelot filly (ex. Holy Moly) we bought at the Gold Coast Sale in January – she has broken in beautifully – and that gave us real confidence to come back and buy another filly by this exciting young stallion,” said Te Akau principal David Ellis.

“Like the Sebring filly we bought earlier in the day, this filly was also a standout on our initial inspections.

Her dam Satirical Lady has already left three winners of eight races and her sire Giant’s Causeway was a three time champion sire in the USA.

“He (Giant’s Causeway) is known as a sire to produce classic contenders, sired the stallions Shamardal and Footstepsinthesand, and most importantly to me he is showing to be particularly pre-potent as a broodmare sire with both sons and daughters from his mares performing very well internationally.

Ellis said: “She is a later foal but is very athletic and we feel she has the makings of a real three-year-old type and Oaks’ filly”.

“I have been getting some great feedback at the sales about the stock of Camelot and people are really impressed with the young horses they have by him.”

This filly is from the first Australian bred crop of Camelot, the champion three-year-old colt in Europe and Great Britain.

“Camelot is probably one of the best racehorses that Coolmore has ever brought to Australia,” Ellis said. “He (Camelot) is by Montjeu, who had a lot of success when standing at stud in New Zealand, and as I said people are very impressed with his progeny.”

A 10% share in this filly is $16,500 plus GST – this includes ALL expenses including veterinary inspections, sales’ expenses at cost, transport back to New Zealand etc until 31 July 2018 – excluding insurance and Magic Million’s Series’ Entry.

A 5% share in this filly is only $8,250 plus GST.
