In recent times, Te Akau has had a phenomenal record with the progeny of Savabeel (Zabeel).
Most recently, Woodville Cup winner Wide Awake, group one winners Hall of Fame and Embellish, Splurge, Royal Success, Shillelagh, Grazia, and Sword of Osman to name but a few.
This filly is from a very current Waikato Stud family, one that continues to leave quality performers and the fillies in the family, especially, carry enormous residual value.
“I fell in love with this filly during our inspections at Waikato Stud, and we have had so much success when buying first foals,” said David Ellis.
“Her dam, Far Fetched, showed the family quality in her three wins and was stakes placed in the Lowland Stakes (Gr. 3, 2100m).
“She’s a filly I believe can be winning as a two-year-old and train on to become a really good 1000 Guineas prospect, before going on to contest other races in the NZB Filly of the Year Series.”
The stallion Pins (Snippets) is simply outstanding as a sire and broodmare sire and his influence as dam sire in this filly adds massively. With the addition of champion stallions: Centaine and O’Reilly, on his dam page, it becomes a difficult pedigree to beat.
