Lot 75 b c Reliable Man – Blinding (Black Minnaloushe) $160,000 (draft: Highden Park)
“We have been very impressed by what the progeny of this young stallion has achieved to date,” said David Ellis. “His oldest are only three and they have been a terrific force in group one races already.”
“We have some really promising young horses by him in our stable, impressing Steve (Autridge) and Jamie (Richards), and none more so than Gris Dame.”
His dam, Blinding, was a very competitive filly in her three-year-old year, finishing second in the Levin Classic (Gr. 1, 1600m), third in the Sarten Memorial (Listed, 1400m), and fourth in the Sir Tristram Classic (Gr. 2, 2000m). She is doing a very good job at stud, with plenty to like about her young progeny already.
In turn, she is from the Zabeel (Sir Tristram) mare Dazzling Walk, an influence that cannot be ignored in any pedigree.
“He has plenty of quality about him as a staying horse of the future, and I can see him winning a race as an autumn two-year-old and training on to be a serious Derby horse,” Ellis said.
