Karaka 18 – Lot 81 Burgundy – Bouquet, Brown Colt

Show pedigree

Lot 81 br c Burgundy – Bouquet (My Halo) $80,000 (draft: Phoenix Park)

“The progeny by Burgundy (Darci Brahma), who we trained to win five stakes races, really are turning out to be something else, just incredible,” said David Ellis.

“His first three two-year-olds to the races all won on debut and he is currently second equal in stakes winners this season, behind Savabeel (Zabeel).

“When you see a Burgundy in for the fight, I’ve noticed they all seem to get their head in front and it’s a great quality to have.

“This colt is a lovely example of the cross between stallion and mare. Bouquet showed good speed when winning her races and she’s had three to race for three winners, so doing a really good job.

“He’s a lovely type of colt and I thought to get him for $80,000 was a very good buy.

“He is another horse that has been beautifully prepared by Phoenix Park, and interestingly he has a lovely cross of tremendous racehorse and sire Vice Regal.”

Vice Regal had the claim to fame of winning a group one race in all four seasons that he campaigned.
