This former Irish galloper was purchased by Australian interests and raced there with success – his career in Ireland and Australia included seven wins and 17 other placings.
He was identified and purchased for Fortuna Syndicators by David Ellis and Mark Walker two weeks before the Group 1 Sydney Cup – a race in which he finished second for his new Kiwi ownership trained by Te Akau’s Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards, only to find the race was declared a non-race. In the re-run event a week later, he did well on the short back up to finish fifth.
In September 2017 he had his first New Zealand start and performed brilliantly fresh up over 1600m to win the $50,000 Listed Haunui Farm Karaka Classic over 1600m at Counties, in the hands of Opie Bosson.
After no luck in the Group 1 Livamol Classic at Hastings at his next start in October 2018, he then stepped out at Ellerslie on Melbourne Cup Day and claimed the $70,000 Group 3 OMF Stakes WFA 2000m with Opie Bosson again in the saddle.
In his dual hemisphere career, the 8YO gelding has had 31 starts for nine wins and 17 placings – winning $529,184 to date.
