Encosta Diablo

By Encosta de Lago from Devil's Lair, this colt is a half brother to Vapour Trail and Santagostino, bred by Peter Vela ONZM and Philip Vela.  He was purchased by David Ellis for $600,000 and won on debut in October 2009.  At only his third start on 14 November 2009, he claimed the $45,000 Listed Welcome Stakes at Riccarton for trainer Mark Walker - the third time Te Akau has won this event.  He relocated to Singapore in September 2011.
