King's Rose

By Redoute's Choice from Nureyev's Girl, raced by Dr Gene Tsoi, trained by Jason Bridgman, she easily won the $45,000 Listed Ray Coupland Stakes at Ashburton in October 2010.  Her win delivered Jason Bridgman's first black type for Te Akau.  This is the fifth time that Te Akau has won this event.  Then in November 2010 she trounced her opposition in the $300,000 Group 1 New Zealand Bloodstock 1000 Guineas at Riccarton.  She followed this with an outstanding win in the $70,000 Group 3 Ezibuy Eulogy Stakes at Awapuni in December 2010. In 2011 King's Rose won her fourth consecutive black type race claiming the $100,000 Group 2 Royal Stakes at Ellerslie on New Year's Day.  Her fifth consecutive black type was registered with her win in the Group 2 $100,000 Cambridge Stud Sir Trstram Fillies' Classic at Te Rapa in February 2-011 - after which she became New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year for 2010/2011. In new Zealand she raced twelve times for six wins and four placings for stakes of $391,390.  King's Rose transferred to Australia for her 2011 season and immediately won two Group 2 races - $200,000 Memsie Stakes and the $200,000 Stock Stakes before finishing a close second in the $500,000 Group 1 Toorak Handicap behind King Mufhasa as well as runner up in the Group 1 Emirates Stakes at Flemington in November 2011.
