Purchased by David Ellis from the NZB Ready to Run Sale for $50,000, this Atlante filly was very good against the Group 1 NZ Derby favourite Dragon Leap and the, then unbeaten, Riodini when third in the $100,000 Group 2 Auckland Guineas on New Year's Day, 2020.
Star of Bombay's next target was the $60,000 Listed Mufhasa Fasttrack Stakes over 1300m at Ellerslie at the end of February 2020 - and in a sparkling performance, she got up in the hands of Ryan Eliot to win with style.
The winner of three of her five starts - with two other placings to her credit - she has never missed a podium place. Trained by Jamie Richards, Star of Bombay has now won $70,250 for the Te Akau Bombay Star Syndicate (Mgr: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM).
