Winning Wind Up

The Singapore Turf Club's racing season has now drawn to a close.  Racing at Kranji on Sunday saw the curtain come down on a hugely successful year for the Te Akau Singapore operation and trainer Mark Walker.

In the past 12 months, Mark has trained 73 winners (including three Group races) and an incredible 92 runners up.  Stakes earned by the stable have hit $4.5 million.

After leading the Trainers' Premiership for most of the year, Mark was only overtaken in the late stages of the season and can still be exceptionally proud to finish second on the table.

Our season was capped off with a gutsy win by Vitalico - going back to back - in the hands of Corey Brown.  An 8YO son of O'Reilly, this gelding has now earned over $300,000 in his career.  In more recent times he has been raced by David and Mark.

Well done to the whole Te Akau Singapore team - we are hugely proud of your success - to Mark and Julia, Gus and Karen and everyone who works so hard for us there - we eagerly anticipate the new season ahead which kicks off in January.
