Another Awesome Aussie (filly!)
It wasn't long until David Ellis made his second purchase at today's Magic Millions' Sale - and another bodice-ripping filly - she really stood out from the crowd ...
Lot 95 b f Camelot - Holy Moly (Holy Roman Emperor) $250,000 (draft: Coolmore Stud)

Both her dam Holy Moly and the grand-dam Clarissa (Zabeel) were impressive winners on home soil in New Zealand.

“She is a beautiful filly by the very exciting young stallion Camelot, who is probably one of the best racehorses that Coolmore have ever brought to Australia,” said David Ellis.

“He (Camelot) is by Montjeu, who had a lot of success when standing at stud in New Zealand, and this is a beautifully balanced filly, with a terrific walk, that just oozes quality.

“We kept a close eye on Holy Moly when she was racing here (NZ) and obviously she was a very good filly herself, and her sire Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill) is doing a great job, and she's is out of a Zabeel mare.

“She could do anything, this filly,” Ellis said. “She's got everything and she's the real deal”.

Holy Moly won on debut as a two-year-old and showed her inherent ability when successful in the Soliloquy Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Ellerslie, before placing in the Sarten Memorial (Gr. 3, 1400m) at Te Rapa.

This is her first foal, from the first Australian bred crop of the champion three-year-old colt in Europe and Great Britian, Camelot (Montjeu).

Holy Moly is a half-sister to a highly thought of stakes winning filly Indarra (Stravinsky).

“This filly has the pedigree not only to perform as an autumn two-year-old but also has ideal credentials for the classic races as a three-year-old filly,” Ellis said.

She is a filly with a lovely Danehill (Danzig) influence on both the sire and dam side of her pedigree.
