Another Weekend, Another Winner

Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker has yet again started our weekend in winning fashion!

This time is was the turn of Toast's Angel to salute the Kranji judge for the third time in his career - in the hands of apprentice R Zawari.

This 4YO son of Fast 'n' Famous out of Kiwi mare Haberdashery is a relatively recent addition to the Te Akau Singapore stable, being transferred into Mark Walker's care by owners Toast Trust No.33 and Hew Yew Wah Stable in December last year.

Drawn well enough, Toast's Angel jumped well from barrier seven, carrying 55kgs with the 3kg apprentice claim.  Settling in sixth position, he was patiently ridden and pounced in the final stages to score narrowly but well in a time of 1.00.2 for the 1000m.  Stablemate Dr Octopus fresh up ran on well for third with Manny Nunes in the saddle, 1.2 lengths behind the winner.

This win takes Toast's Angel's record to three wins and five placings from his 14 starts - for stakes of $107,131.  He was also Mark Walker's 26th winner for the season which is almost six months complete.  Mark has also trained 32 runners up and 30 third placegetters.

It was a night where the team ran well including Regal Salute who was runner up in his Class 5 1200m for Manny Nunes, Dreamcatcher finished third in his Class 4 1100m also for Nunes, Dr Octopus likewise third and finally Ready Fortune went a handy race for fourth for the Fortuna team in his Class 5 1900m event, again with top Singapore rider Nunes in the saddle.
