Audacious Win She's Outrageous

Capping a terrific day for Te Akau Racing, She's Outrageous (4 m Reliable Man - She's Insatiable, by Ustinov) gave rise to a burgeoning career after winning the $15,000 Maiden 1600 metres on Saturday at Matamata.

Having her third start on the home course, after running home solidly for sixth when debuting in the Rating 60 1200 metres on 21 September, and recording the fastest last 600m (34.8) for fourth to dual stakes' placed stable-mate Romancing The Moon (El Roca) in the Maiden 1400 metres on 8 October, the form about She's Outrageous looked pretty good.

Ridden by Te Akau apprentice Niranjan Parmar (a3), who won earlier aboard stable-mate Hero Worship (Xtravagant), She's Outrageous was trucking behind horses turning for home and only seized on a gap late in the piece to fly through for victory.

It was a devastating watch and followed a recent pattern of winners for the stable, including Wild Night (Vanbrugh) coming from last to win the Sarten Memorial (Gr. 2, 1400m) at Te Rapa; Perfect Scenario (Iffraaj) doing likewise in the Coupland's Bakeries Mile Prelude (Open, 1400m) at Riccarton; La Flora Belle (Iffraaj) getting away at New Plymouth; Sophisticardo (Burgundy) rocketing home at Awapuni, and Hero Worship (Xtravagant) staging a paralysing burst through the pack earlier on at Matamata.

In the race sponsored by Prima Park & Daniel Miller Racing, She's Outrageous ran 1600 metres in 1:38.6, last 600m in 37.4, on footing that remained Soft5 throughout the day, and paid $4.60 & $1.80 on the NZ TAB tote.

“It was a really nice staying type of win by She's Outrageous,” said trainer Mark Walker, who had three winners at Matamata, and one at Awapuni.

“She's taken time to mature, but won with plenty of authority and looks to have a bright future over ground.”

Bred and owned by Gerard Peterson, She's Outrageous is raced in conjunction with owners Grant Smith, Chris Talbot, Bruce Page, Tony Edwards, Grayham Jennings, Garry Bluett, John Bowring, Ash Dann and Brad Peterson.

Sporting a cross of legendary sires Northern Dancer, Mill Reef, and Mr. Prospector, her dam, She's Insatiable, won the time-honoured Metropolitan Trophy (Listed, 2500m) among six victories and included thirds in the Wellington Cup (Gr. 2, 2400m) and New Zealand Cup (Gr. 3, 3200m).

She's Outrageous was strapped by Rasheed Alam.
