Cambridge Trials' Report

Te Akau trialled horses on Tuesday June 11 at Cambridge.

The footing was rated Heavy11, with the rail in the True position.

Heat 1 2YO 650 metres (¾ lengths, 3 ½ lengths 40.8)

Pharma Browne (2 g Saperavi - Patient) - Michelle Wenn; rocked back and missed the start a touch, but continued to make ground inside the 400 metres and worked home nicely for third without being pressured. He displayed a very nice action and did everything perfectly.

Heat 3 2YO 800 metres (½ a length, ½ a length 50.5)

King Savinsky (2 g Savabeel - Lynisky) - Matt Cameron; settled back after jumping up at start, but improved from the 500 metres and pushed up between runners in the straight to round off with a strong finish for second.

Heat 4 2YO 800 metres (½ head, ½ a length 50.3)

Seline (2 f Pentire - Dion) - Matt Cameron; jumped away well, travelled up wide in fourth and ran home nicely to hold her position without being pressured in wetter ground than she prefers.

Heat 5 2YO 800 metres (1 length, 1 length 50.8)

Sky Music (2 f Stravinsky - Dawn Rhapsody) - Matt Cameron; was first out of the gates before being steadied to fifth. Six lengths from the lead at the 400 metres, she was unable to quicken in the testing ground and worked home for sixth.

Heat 15 Maiden 950 metres (½ a length, ½ head 1:01.65)

Clermont Club (3 g Casino Prince - Razzle) - K C Walters; jumped away nicely to trail the pace and working away from the rail in the straight he found the line solidly for fourth in footing beyond him.
