Te Akau trialled horses on Tuesday October 8 at Cambridge.
The footing was rated Dead5, with the rail out 1 metre.
Heat 1 2YO 650 metres (3 ½ lengths, 1 ¼ lengths 39.04)
Appellation (2 c Pentire - Tattinger) - Matt Cameron pictured below; jumped well from barrier one, hugged the rail, quickened to run clear under minimal urging in the straight and remained strong through the line.
Heat 4 2YO 650 metres (½ head, 6 lengths 38.83)
2 f Minstrel Court - Palais Jamai - Matt Cameron pictured below; tardy to begin, settling last of five, she galloped out to show a good action in the straight and closed the margin to cross the line level in fourth.
Heat 5 2YO 800 metres (1 ½ lengths, neck 46.93)
2 f Encosta De Lago - Mexican Rose - Matt Cameron; was steadied for cover off a wide gate and became separated from the pack ahead, then ran home under her own steam.
Heat 6 2YO 800 metres (short head, 2 ¾ lengths 47.12)
Darci's Dream (2 f Darci Brahma - Sweet Dreams Baby) - Matt Cameron; searched for cover off the outside gate, but flushed wide rounding the home turn and let run home under her own steam in centre track.
Heat 7 2YO 800 metres (5 lengths, ½ a length 47.63)
Flaming (2 f Bachelor Duke - Flying Firebird) - Michael Dee; settled amongst horses in fifth/sixth, tracked up in the straight and switched to the inner at the 150 metres she finished strongly for third.
2 f Any Suggestion - Spanish Lullaby - Matt Cameron; into second, she went a touch greenly passing the 400 metres but recovered and fought hard for fourth.
Heat 10 Maiden 3YO 800 metres (3 ¾ lengths, 1 ½ lengths 45.74)
3 f High Chaparral - Romantic Liaisons - Michael Dee; positioned sixth in running, became three lengths detached from the fifth horse passing the 400 metres but once urged to improve she made very good ground to finish fourth.
Heat 22 Maiden 3YO 950 metres (¾ lengths, ½ a length 57.35)
3 g Duke of Marmalade - Frescante - Matt Cameron; got back in running to be last and standing the leader seven lengths passing the 600 metres. He tracked up behind runners in the straight and once through a gap he finished strongly for fourth.
Heat 26 Open 1200 metres (dead-heat, short neck 1:13.24)
Stanica Star (7 g Danzero - Stanica) - Michael Dee pictured below; settled back in the field, with a clear leader, worked up near the rail in the straight and sustained a strong finish to dead-heat for first.
Heat 27 Open 1200 metres (1 ¼ lengths, 1 ½ lengths 1:13.27)
O'Darci (4 g Darci Brahma - O'Sequita) - Matt Cameron pictured below; began well and travelled nicely in front on the rail, with two horses to his outside. Rounding for home in front, he worked away from the rail to centre track and kept up a strong gallop to win well.
Abidewithme (4 m Redoute's Choice - Crimson) - Michael Dee pictured below; camped on the leaders in fifth/sixth, she was urged to pick up inside the 400 metres, found clear room on straightening and got home solidly for second.
