Tonight, the spotlight is on the very best in our industry as the 2025 Industry Excellence Awards powered by Entain take centre stage - and we couldn’t be prouder to have two outstanding Te Akau team members recognised as finalists.

Hosted by NZTR and powered by Entain, these awards are all about honouring the dedication, skill, and passion that drive New Zealand’s racing industry forward. The formalities kick off at 7:00pm, and you can watch the live stream here from 6:45 p.m -  WATCH LIVE

We are absolutely thrilled that Sam Bergerson, our New Zealand co-trainer, is a finalist in the Equine Licence Holder Excellence Award, and Kohen Collett, our Colt Barn Foreman, is a finalist in the Stud, Stable & Kennel Staff Excellence Award.

Both Sam and Kohen exemplify the commitment and high standards we strive for every day at Te Akau. Their work ethic, horsemanship, and team-first attitudes are truly top class, and we’re so proud to see their efforts acknowledged on a national stage.

These awards celebrate those who go the extra mile - behind the scenes and on the front lines - and we know you’ll join us in wishing Sam and Kohen all the very best tonight. They’ve done us proud.
