Chadsdale You Champ

Given a lovely ride by Matt Cameron, Chadsdale (4 g Castledale - Geeiliani, by Faltaat) saluted on a premier day in the $30,000 The Design Depot Rating 65 1400 metres at Te Rapa.

Providing premiership leading trainers Stephen Autridge & Jamie Richards with their 58th win this season, Chadsdale continued the good run of success for the stable at Te Rapa.

Having produced a creditable effort for fourth to promising galloper Enough (O'Reilly), after being caught three wide near the pace in the $50,000 Special Conditions 1400 metres on January 24 at Ellerslie, Chadsdale brought the right form to prove competitive and his $7.70 & $2.60 dividend was a fair reflection.

Cameron handled Chadsdale patiently through the early stages in seventh before tracking up three wide with cover inside the 800m and after looming in centre track at the 200m he proved too good.

He ran the 1400 metres in 1:23.9, last 600m in 34.9.

Chadsdale had been a touch unlucky not to have won during his previous campaign and resumed three starts ago with a solid victory for owner Stan Painton, over 1200 metres at Matamata,

“He hadn't gone badly in his last couple and had average draws to try and overcome, getting parked up too wide, and today after being three wide with cover he found the line nicely,” said Autridge.

“Stan (Painton) has been with me for twenty years. I love winning races for him, especially on a good day like this.

Out of three-quarter sister to four-time group one winner and Champion 3YO Tit for Taat (Faltaat), Chadsdale has an interesting cross of Raise a Native and Nashua on both sides of his pedigree.

Chadsdale was strapped by Gary Ritchie.
