Chance to Dance, Second Chance?

Hopefully it will be 'second time lucky' for new Te Akau Racing recruit Chance to Dance in the 'to-be-re-run' Group 1 Sydney Cup this Saturday at Royal Randwick.

It has been something of 'musical saddles' too with original rider Damien Lane, who finished second on Chance to Dance as one of the horses that completed the original event, declaring himself unavailable.  Te Akau then secured lightweight rider Jason Collett, only to lose his services due to his impending suspension.

Sydney jockey Christian Reith has now been booked to ride Chance To Dance.

Chance To Dance was set to make his debut for new owners Fortuna and Te Akau trainers Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards when the Sydney Cup was abandoned two weeks ago.

Reith rode Chance to Dance in a 1200-metre gallop at Randwick on Tuesday morning, running good time and never off the bridle.  He is the winner of three Group One races, most recently last year's Randwick Guineas on Le Romain.
