Heat 1 Open 1000 metres
Entriviere (5 m Tavistock - Marcey's Belt) - Opie Bosson; steadied third with cover, maintained a steady pace, came clear at the turn, jogged up at the 200m and remained well held finishing second.
The classy daughter of Tavistock ended last season winning five of seven starts and twice second, from Maiden to Open class in a flash, including the Concorde Handicap (Gr. 3, 1200m), King's Plate (Gr. 3, 1200m), and culminating in April with second place in the Sapphire Stakes (Gr. 2, 1200m) at Randwick.
Owned by Te Akau Buckle Up Racing Partnership (Mgr: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM), Entriviere resumed winning the nCoolmore Sheraco Stakes (Gr. 2, 1200m) in September at Kembla Grange (NSW), finished second in the Golden Pendant (Gr.2, 1400m) at Rosehill from a wide gate, and was an unlucky fourth in the $2m The Invitation (1400m) on 23 October at Randwick.
Back home for a break, she won easily when trialing on 13 December at Rotorua, before exploding to victory in the Sistema Railway (Gr. 1, 1200m) on 1 January at Ellerslie. Without all favours, she finished fifth in the Telegraph (Gr. 1, 1200m) on 15 January at Trentham, and trialed at Te Rapa in preparation for the $220,000 BCD Sprint (Gr. 1, 1400m) on 12 February at that track.
