Family Ties Matter

To me, when buying fillies it is very important to find out exactly what is happening to the family and to see if there is any upside going forward. There are many occasions over the years when I have sold a filly for a lot more than I have paid for her without the filly ever winning a race.

Lot 30 a Redoute's choice filly out of Aware that I bought this week from the Sydney Easter sale held plenty of appeal to me.  Not only was she a darned good filly, she is out of one of the fastest two year old fillies that I have seen in recent years.  The second dam Media won both the lead-up races to the Group 1 Golden Slipper and ran third in that world famous race.

Our filly's mother importantly has a Redoute's Choice colt weanling and she is in foal to I Am Invincible so there is plenty more about to happen in this pedigree.

Redoute's Choice has been the Champion Sire in Australia on three occasions.  He leaves Golden Slipper winners, classic winners, you name it.  He is also himself the sire of Snitzel who is now the champion sire in Australia and his progeny is running red-hot.  Redoute's is known as the "King of Sires" and that time says it all.

This filly will arrive back from Australia next Wednesday and we will immediately break her in. Then we will send her into the Matamata stable for her to receive further education.

Because of the all the factors I have mentioned above, this filly has terrific residual value.

She is a beautiful filly, very correct and athletic to my eye. We will aim her for the Group 2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes then the Group 1 Sistema Stakes.  She will also be nominated for the Group 1 Golden Slipper but she certainly has the scope to train on to be a really good Group 1 1000 Guineas in the Spring.

I bought this filly very early in the sale and I believe she was wonderful buying at AUD$300,000.  In my opinion she certainly would have made more at Karaka.

I can strongly recommend this filly to you.

A 10% share in her is $35,200 plus GST and a 5% share is $17,600 plus GST - and this INCLUDES transport to New Zealand and all travel fees, her full veterinary and X-ray inspections, insurance to 31.1.19 and sales' expenses at cost.
