Farewell From NZ Shores Melody Belle

Valerie as she is known by all that adore her has departed for Sydney today however it’s not goodbye just yet, we’ve still got more excitement to come as she tackles her 15th Group 1 title contesting the Group 1 Tancred Stakes at Rosehill with James McDonald taking the mount this Saturday. She also holds entries in both the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Coolmore Legacy Stakes.

The final two runs for Melody Belle before she is sold could be the Group 2 Hollindale Stakes at the Gold Coast as a lead-in for the Group 1 Doomben Cup on May 22nd.

Champion racehorse Melody Belle will become the most decorated racemare to be offered at public auction when the 14 time Group 1 winner goes under the hammer at May’s Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on Day One of the National Broodmare Sale, May 25.

We caught up with Jamie Richards prior to her departure to talk about what she really meant to the team over the past 5 years.
