Fastnet Rock Filly Set To Sell Fast
Date: 11 Apr 2024
Not much introduction needs to be done for this beautiful girl! Introducing Lot 330 bay filly Fastnet Rock – Supreme Mind (Akeed Mofeed) $260,000 (draft: Newgate Farm)
Here is a special filly, a bay beauty with a spirit as fiery as her lineage, was born to conquer the tracks and hearts alike! She’s one not to snooze on!
Fastnet Rock, hailed as the Galileo of the Southern Hemisphere, had sired champions that dominated the tracks. Te Akau Racing had tasted success with his progeny, boasting Group One winners Rock ‘N’ Pop, Heroic Valour, Age of Fire, and Avantage, winner of nine Group One races. It’s also worth noting Heroic Valour was Fastnet Rocks first Group 1 winning 2YO so we know what we are looking for when it comes to these types.
Not only is Fastnet Rock a Champion Sire with nearly 200 individual stakes winners, especially with fillies such as Avantage being his best performed Group One winner, but also as sire of sires, including triple Group One winner Merchant Navy, and proven as a broodmare sire of Group One winners. Some notable Fastnet Rock Group One winning progeny include: Atlantic Jewel, Mosheen, Dreamforce, Unforgotten, Planet Rock, Foxwedge, Atlante, Wanted, and the list goes on... in addition to the Te Akau Group One winners by him.
Dam sire Akeed Mofeed is by Dubawi (Dubai Millennium), who has been the highest ranked stallion in the world and currently second to Frankel (Galileo). Dubawi is the sire of Makfi, who stood successfully in New Zealand, producing Group One winners in both NZ and Australia. On the dam line, the filly has a very influential sire, Golden Slipper (Gr. 1, 1200m) winner and Champion Australian Sire Canny Lad (Bletchingly), who adds speed and quality to any pedigree.
Te Akau Principle David Ellis, renowned for his keen eye for talent, saw in her not just potential, but a kindred spirit, “She’s an absolutely beautiful and classic filly, just a darling”. “Very much in the mould of Fastnet Rock, she has impeccable conformation, great balance, and an outstanding temperament.”
With a Danehill cross as the sire of Fastnet Rock and on the dam line of dam sire Akeed Mofeed (Dubawi) coursing through her veins, this filly embodied the perfect blend of power and grace.
She's a beauty not to be missed. With plans to return to New Zealand to embark on her racing career, her pedigree ensures she already holds significant residual value.
