The New Zealand Racing Desk reports:
Matamata's powerful Te Akau racing stable will be well represented at the Hawera meeting today with three members of the Jason Bridgman prepared team in action.
Bridgman, who currently lies second on the national trainer's premiership ladder with 67 wins for the season, will have promising maiden My Fiancee in race 3 as his first runner of the day with stable manager Jeff Dore confident of a forward showing. The mare was recently sold through the May Sale and her new owners have kept her in the stable.
“She should probably have won a race by now but just hasn't been able to round off some solid efforts,†he said.
“She went very nicely at the Te Teko trials recently and on that form I would think she is close to a win which could come today.
“Track conditions will play a major role in all of our runner's performances and if they can cope with the heavy surface then they should all acquit themselves well.â€
Race winner Fast Fiction will resume in race 4 after a ten month break from the track while the Fortuna Syndications owned Redoute's Chance will make his debut in race 5 on the card.
“Fast Fiction won nicely on debut this time last year but didn't kick on so he went out for a decent break and has had two trials to get him ready this time in,†said Dore
“Redoute's Chance is a well bred Redoute's Choice gelding who went nicely behind race rival Gesemi at last month's Te Awamutu trials and we think will benefit a lot from a raceday start.â€
Jockey's premiership leader Matthew Cameron will ride all three of the Bridgman runners as he looks to extend his current 16 win lead over Johnathon Parkes with just seven weeks left in the current season.
