Glad & Sad

We had some very exciting news on Saturday - overnight on Friday our very first Rock 'n' Pop foal was born - our owners sharing in the ownership of the foal were over the moon - a ripping colt.

However we learned of his arrival with truly mixed emotions - the sad news is that his Mum did not survive the foaling - and we want to thank the team at Waikato Stud who did everything they could to save her.  He was her first foal too so it was very sad to have lost her.

So of course our immediate concern was for his future and well-being and the great news is that the team at Waikato Stud found a foster mare who sadly had lost her pwn foal last week.  We thought you would enjoy seeing this video taken this morning.

Two days old and a foster mum but so far, so good, everyone is looking well and happy.  She is being a terrific Mum and he is responding to her well.  Notice the little loveheart on his head too - very special.
