Hadeer Home in Singapore
8 November, 2020
Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker recorded yet another win on Saturday at Kranji - taking his season tally to 41 - maintaining his second position on the Trainers' Premiership.
Hadeer was Saturday's winner for Fortuna Syndicates who race the five year old gelding from Te Akau's Singapore stable. It was a bold front-running ride by senior jockey Benny Woodworth that stole the show in the S$50,000 Class 4 event over 1200m on the turf.
The on of Savabeel drew awkwardly at barrier 8 however the tactics and expertise of Woodworth took the bad luck out of the equation - after jumping well, he took the lead and controlled the tempo. He headed for home with a good margin on the opposition, and finished off strongly with half a length over the runner up.
Hadeer was a winner in Australia for his former owners Shadwell Stud and had placed at each of his first three Singapore starts, breaking through at start four on Saturday.
