More on our Australian Girls
It really is a case of "girls, girls, girls" - and Sydney girls, girls, girls at that!!
Te Akau's David Ellis has now secured FIVE FANTABULOUS FILLIES (yes a cross between fantastic and fabulous)!!!!
The first is Lot 30 a REDOUTE'S CHOICE filly (below) out of a winning Tale of the Cat mare AWARE - Redoute's remains the King of Sires in Australia.  He has been the Champion Australian Sire no fewer than three times and has sired star gallopers such as Golden Slipper winner Miss Finland, Lankan Rupee, Samantha Miss and of course red hot sire Snitzel is himself a son of this grand master.  Our filly's grandmother was the very successful racehorse Media who was a Group 2 and Group 3 winner and multiple Goup 1 performer.  Lots of sublime female success in these bloodlines.  Remember Group winners such as Timbourina, Tashbeeh and Cardinal Virtue? - they are all part of this family!
She's a fast looking filly and has plenty of natural strength about her. She's short coupled, powerful moving, very attractive and has some great sprinting bloodlines in her pedigree. We'd be aiming this filly towards the Sistema Stakes (Gr. 1, 1200m) at Ellerslie, a race we won this year with Sword of Osman (Savabeel), and would like to think she could train on to be a Sires' Produce (Gr. 1, 1400m) filly and emulate the win in the race by Avantage (Fastnet Rock).
A 10% share in this filly is $35,200 - a 5% share is $17,600 - this includes insurance to 31.1.19, transport to NZ, full veterinary/xray inspections and sale expenses at cost.

Lot 30 Inglis

Our next filly is Lot 56 a PIERRO filly (below) out of a Hurricane Run mare BULLE DE CHAMPAGNE (imagine the fun we will all have naming this girl)!  Her mother is a half sister to the outstanding Australian galloper Contributor who was named Champion Australian Miler in 2014/15 - amongst his trophies the Group 1 Chipping Norton and Group 1 Ranvet Stakes and Group 2 Apollo Stakes plus a flurry of other elite victories.  He now stands at stud in New Zealand. This filly's grandmother and great-grandmother excelled on the track winning stakes' races in France so a truly successful international family.  This filly has a beautiful pedigree cross of Sadler's Wells (Northern Dancer), who set a record as leading sire 14 times in Great Britain and Ireland, and having sired 323 stakes winners places him second only to Danehill.
We've bought her to develop into a lovely three-year-old staying filly. She is tall, athletic, out of an imported mare, from a very good family, a real Oaks sort of filly that could end up being competitive in age group staying races on both sides of the Tasman.  There is no shortage of quality in the pedigree of this filly.
A 10% share in this filly is $19,800 - a 5% share is $9,900 - this includes insurance to 31.1.19, transport to NZ, full veterinary/xray inspections and sale expenses at cost.

INGLIS PIERRO FILLY

Now here IS a filly - Lot 72 - we looked at this FASTNET ROCK/CIERZO filly (below) time and time again in the past 24 hours - she was passed in for $500,000 and we just simply could not let her go - her veterinary check was A1 and she ticked every single box of what we are looking for.  She is a stunning type and has a pedigree to die for, being a half sister to NZ Horse of the Year, Champion 3YO and Champion Middle Distance Horse Jimmy Choux and also she is a half sister to Miss Wilson, who just last weekend won the Group 1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes - this family is rocking and rolling and she is drop-dead gorgeous.  A total babe in every sense of the word and with massive potential residual value too!
Cierzo has become a Blue Hen mare in establishing this family and to secure a filly from her by Fastnet Rock is quite unbelievable.   Te Akau has experienced great success with the progeny of Champion Australian Sire Fastnet Rock who has commanded a stud fee of $275,000 - through the deeds of Group One winners Rock ‘N' Pop, Heroic Valour, Age of Fire, and Avantage.
We loved this filly during inspections, but thought she might be outside our budget and David was keen to get back in on the action after she was passed in.  With her great walk and deep girth she really reminds us of Avantage, who won the Karaka Million and Sires' Produce Stakes for us and she looks odds on to become Champion Two-Year-Old.  This really is a beautiful filly, with an outstanding pedigree, and all the quality to race as a two-year-old and train on to a 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) and other races for three-year-old fillies in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series.
A 10% share in this filly is $57,800 - a 5% share is $28,900 - this includes insurance to 31.1.19, transport to NZ, full veterinary/xray inspections and sale expenses at cost.

New Fastnet Rock Cierzo filly

We have been closely watching the new sire Zoustar and we have one of his fillies in the stable already - we love what he is doing and the yearlings he is producing, so we did not hesitate to bring home a filly by him, one that boasts so much upside - Lot 214 by ZOUSTAR from LUMINOUS HARMONY - this is a family boasting Champion 3YO Fillies in America and plenty of Group winners from France to the UK to the USA!  So much to love about this girl (pictured below).
Zoustar was sold to stud for $14 million in the week leading up to his victory in the Coolmore Stud Stakes (Gr. 1, 1200m) at Flemington, which provided jockey Jim Cassidy with his 100th Group One winner.  His filly Sunlight has won five from seven: including the $2m Magic Millions 2YO Classic (Restricted Listed, 1200m) and recently finished third in the $4m Golden Slipper (Gr. 1, 1200m). David bought a Zoustar filly (Quattro Katie) last year at 2017 Gold Coast Yearling Sale, and we really like her. She actually beat Avantage (in line for Champion Two-Year-Old honours) in her first trial and almost ready to debut.
The dam of this filly is by Fastnet Rock and won four races to 1400 metres in Australia, and is a sister to highly talented dual Group Three winner Neena Rock.  This filly has the strength and maturity to become an early type, targeting races such as the Group 2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes  and then train on to become a 1000 Guineas filly at three.
A 10% share in this filly is $27,300 - a 5% share is $13,650 - this includes insurance to 31.1.19, transport to NZ, full veterinary/xray inspections and sale expenses at cost.

New zoustar

Then we snapped up a steal!  For just A$135,000 we were all over Lot 243 this PIERRO filly (below) who is out of a stakes' winning mare in MISSY CUMMINGS.  In fact her mum, her grandma and her great grandma ALL were stakes' winners.  This is a family fill of prolific winners and she has everything going for her physically to be the next one!  What a beauty!
She is a cracking example of Pierro, has a fantastic temperament, athletic walk, with plenty of strength and quality about her, and bred to come a bit sooner than the other Pierro filly we've bought.  She's out of a stakes' winning mare by Magnus, a son of Golden Slipper winner Flying Spur (Danehill) that recently sired the Blue Diamond Prelude winner Enbihaar (his 16th stakes winner). Magnus was a hardy Group One winning sprinter that also finished second to Takeover Target in the Group One Krisflyer in Singapore, as well as a second to Miss Andretti in the Group Two King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot in England. He's left three Group One winners and David thinks he's an ideal broodmare sire that adds toughness to the pedigree.
All three dams on the page are stakes winners, certainly adding to the quality and depth in the family that this filly has.  Pierro already appears to have crossed particularly well with Danehill blood, which she has through Flying Spur, and we believe she can prove to be an autumn two-year-old that trains on as a three-year-old classics filly. She is great value at $135,000 and we had been told that the first foal, a half-sister by Zoustar, is showing plenty of promise in the stables of Anthony Cummings.
A 10% share in this filly is $16,800 - a 5% share is $8,400 - this includes insurance to 31.1.19, transport to NZ, full veterinary/xray inspections and sale expenses at cost.
