Mark Keeps On Winning

Te Akau trainer Mark Walker has been going from strength to strength this season as we all know.  It is incredible to think that this is only Te Akau's third full season in Singapore and yet Mark is making a huge impact on the trainers' ranks.

Since the beginning of the season on 1 January, Mark has dominated the Trainers' Premiership (click on his name above to see the standings as of today) - and with a large team engaged this Friday, we are confident that his winning tally will increase.

Mark and Julia are ably assisted by Gus and Karen Clutterbuck and a highly dedicated team that is taking great pride from the season's success.  Also proud and delighted are Te Akau's owners who have horses racing from our Kranji operation.  As you know, the stakes are extremely attractive in Singapore (which also offers a $900 starters' incentive if your horse does not win nor finishes last) and Te Akau Singapore is close to hitting the $2 million in stakes' earnings for the season so far.  A remarkable milestone in only five months.  Combined with our New Zealand stable which has earnings of almost of $850,000 for the season, Te Akau is on track to break our record of stakes earned in a season - a great result for Te Akau owners!

The Group 2 win by War Affair of May 17 also furthered Mark's impressive Group and Listed race tally - and his milestone of having trained 1000 winners is very close by indeed - that will most definitely be achieved this season which concludes in Singapore on 31 December.
