Mark Makes 50
5 July, 2015
Although there is no Sunday racing at Kranji today with the Group 1 Singapore Derby looming next weekend - Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker has once again enjoyed a very successful Friday of racing.
Prince Mag and My Lucky Strike both continued on their winning ways, the latter notching up win five at only his sixth start. Both are raced by the 'Lucky Stable', strong supporters of the stable, and we are delighted for them.
Delighted we are too for Mark - everyone in racing knows how hard Mark Walker works - combine that with his training prowess, and the results speak for themselves.
The win by My Lucky Strike in the S$125,000 Kranji Stakes A on Friday brought up the milestone half century for Mark - 50 wins already this season. Mark is now 11 wins clear on the Trainers' Premiership with half of the season complete - he started off in a dominant fashion from 1 January and the foot hasn't come off the accelerator since!
Following Friday's "great night at the office" Te Akau Singapore's stakes earnings also past another milestone, hitting the two and a half million dollars in stakes' earnings for our owners - in fact $2,577,330.

On that link you will also see on the top right hand side the table for the Apprentice Premiership - here too Te Akau is making its presence felt. Our apprentice Shafiq Rusof has recorded 28 wins for the season and that is DOUBLE the number of Harry Kasim who lies in second position on 14. "Suppy" (as we know him) looks right in target to secure his second Apprentice Riders' Championship title.
Well done to the whole Te Akau Singapore team - what a season so far!
