Mark Walker Still Ahead

We are very proud of the success that Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker is having this season.  From the very first day of the new season - 1 January - we knew it was "game on" for the 2015 season.  

That day Mark celebrated a winning trio with Jimmy Rea, Jefferson Bay and Bazinga all saluting the judge - and the gauntlet was thrown down. Mark is an astute, highly talented horseman and with that skill comes the inherent competitiveness to be the very best that he can be and deliver the very best for our owners.

This past weekend another three Te Akau Singapore trained runners provided their connections with the ultimate prize - Kam's Comet, Zac Gallant and Alpha Centauri were all very impressive in winning - the latter two both David Ellis selected and purchased horses from Karaka.

To give you another example of how rewarding racing in Singapore is, Alpha Centauri has now had 25 starts in Singapore.  Even with an 11 month lay off after a race day injury, he has returned to racing in terrific form, winning a career total of $299,580 in stakes' money - a great result for a $60,000 Karaka Select Sale purchase by David.

As we count down in New Zealand with only four remaining days until the new Kiwi season kicks off, we still have five months of the current season in Singapore to run.  Mark and his team are making every post a winning post!

Here is the latest Singapore Trainers' Premiership standings (sourced from the Singapore Turf Club on Monday) - as you can see Mark has recorded 53 wins, with a raft of minor placings to underline how well our Singapore horses are running.
