Matamata Thursday Trackwork

The majority of gallops this morning were for horses preparing for the Matamata meeting next Thursday.

The plough had the most traffic, with time honours going to Merrily (Dee) and Tiara (Hercock) who galloped 1200m in 1:17.7 and the final 600m in 35.3. Touch of Ruby (K Hillis) and Babilloni (Brown) prepared for their home meeting with a 1000m gallop in 1:03.4 and 36.6. High Viz (Coleman) went solo over 1000m in 1:06.8 and 39 while stable mate Agent Ziva did similar work in 1:08.8 and 40 and Elusive Flirt (Jones) strolled over 1000m in 1:12 and 44.

Madame Kirk (Goodwin) prepared for Tauranga Saturday with an easy gallop over 1000m in 1:15 and 40. Go Paddy (McCrae) looked strong galloping 1000m in 1:08 and 39.2 with stable mate Tronic Rose (McCrae) well held over 800m in 53 and 39.3. Both are likely to head to Matamata with Counties a possibility for Go Paddy.

The O'Sullivan/Scott team look particularly well and had several to gallop a week out from the home meeting. Hidden Secret (Donnelly) was timed over 1000m in 1:06.3 and 38.4 the final 600m. Whiskey Bolero (Donelly) worked over 1200m in 1:27 and 42.3 with Tiger Moss (L O'Sullivan) and Vitali (Turner) galloping separately over 1200m in 1:25 and 38.5 and 1:23 and 38.7 respectively.

On the all-weather Payday (W Hillis) strode out well, clocking 1000m in 1:07 and 38.9. Happy Guys (Coleman) was a tick off three-quarter pace working 1200m in 1:24 and 43 the final 600m. Irish Moon (B Grylls) did similar work over 1000m, timed in 1:16 and 43.5.
