Matamata Thursday Trackwork

After 4ml of rain overnight the course proper was in the dead range with fog preventing timing of sectionals throughout the morning.

Galloping 18m out Miss Mossman (Grylls) looked fit and well as she galloped 1200m in 1:21.8 and the final 1000m in 1.07. Queens Rose (Sapsworth) was strong over 1000m in 1:08.6. Packing Chaparral (Coleman) stretched out nicely over 1200m in 1:25 and 1:09.3 for the 1000m, doing his best work on the line. Sophisticate (A Jones) was not after time as she galloped 1200m in 1:25 and 41.8 the final 600m later in the morning.

Galloping 1000m on the all-weather were Sharp Choice (McNab) in 1:11.3 and 37.1, Pentire Babe in 1:09.1, Nothing Trivial (Hillis) in 1:06.3, Prince of Patch (R Jones) in a speedy 1:03.2 on his second round, Levantos (Leveque) in 1:09.1, Wairaka (Sapsworth) and Letmeby (Waters) in 1:04.8, Irish Moon (Collett) in 1:05.3, Lady Verify (Autridge) in 1:13.7, Da Shindig in 1:10, Beckham (Grylls) and Antonio Lombardo (S McKay) in 1:02.7 and 35.7, Dezignator (R Jones) in 1:03.8 and 37.8, Alice Webb Ellis (Rhodes) in 1:07.4 and Jagger (McNab) in 1:08.7.

On the sand:

SilkChardonnay(A Jones) hit out 1200m in 1:16.9 and 1000m in 1:03.2 while Tegwin (R Jones) covered the 1200m in an even 1:23.7 and Crystalite (Grylls) in 1:24.6 with stable mate Full Monty (Sapsworth) galloping the distance a shade faster in 1:22.2.
Miss Oldfield Road (Ormsby) went 1000m in 1:07 and Chaos (M Brosnan) covered the distance in 1:09.7. Lady Le Fay (McNab) took time honours over 1000m, galloping the distance in 1:06.2.

Also timed over 1000m solo on the sand were Muscat Hills (A Jones) in 1:10.2, Destroyer (Bosson) in 1:07.2, High Viz (A Jones) in 1:10.8 and O'Reilly's Gold (Brosnan) in 1:06.8.
