Matamata Thursday Trackwork

Equanimity and Bordeaux caught the eye when working on the course proper during a quiet training session at Matamata this morning.

Galloping 15 metres out during a showery morning with going at the high end of the dead range, Equanimity (Hercock) and Bordeaux (Lammas) were timed from the 1000m in 1:07.3 and the final 600m in 39. Both are pencilled in for the Woodville meeting next week.

Three from the Moroney-Ormsby stable, Massale, Le Choix and The Last Shower all ridden by co-trainer Chad Ormsby, looked well as they did attractive work, rolling in from the 800-metre mark at three-quarter-pace.

No Tricks (Hercock) got through tidy work for Tauranga Saturday, running 800m in 56.8 and 600m in 42.2 while Sworntomylover (K Shailer) ran a quiet 1000m in 1:16.5 and 42. Fascinate Me (Hutton) and Landed Gentry (R Jones) covered the same ground in 1:12.2 and 41.8.

Whosyourmaster (O'Sullivan) worked on the sand in good fashion, covering 1200m in 1:27 and the final 600m in 42.2, while Fiftyshadesofgrey (Olwagen) was also not after time as she went over the distance in 1:27.2 and 43. Cast King (King) looked fit and well for Tauranga as he galloped 1200m in 1:23, getting home the last 600m in 37.4.

On the all-weather track Dezignator (Leveque) worked 1000m stylishly in 1:04 and 37.1. The son of Volksraad is a doubtful starter at Tauranga if the track is rain affected.

Windborne (Lammas) worked 800m on the two-year-old grass in a comfortable 55.4 and strode the final 600m in 40.
