Matamata Thursday Trackwork

Abidewithme completed her preparation for the Makfi Challenge Stakes with sound work on the course proper at Matamata this morning.

Ridden by raceday jockey Matthew Cameron, Abidewithme worked in the middle part of the track over 1200m, stopping the clock at 1:22.5 and completing the final 600m in 38.5. The Jason Bridgman-trained mare, who has regained the Makfi field with the scratching of Silent Achiever, will be an interesting runner in the big race.

Also on the course proper, Altai Rose (Grylls) did nice work over 600m, galloping a comfortable 38.2, while stablemate Typhoon Jolie (Grylls) worked well over 1000m in 1:07.7 and 36.9. Bearilite (Wong) covered the same distance in 1:02.4 and 36.1.

On the sand, Miss Mossman (Grylls) stretched out over 1200m in 1:21.2 and finished the last 600m in 37.2. Also from the O'Sullivan -Scott stable, Tiger Moss (J Wong) worked over 1200m in a well held 1:25 and 40. Persuasive (J Wong) worked attractively in 59.5 and 44 over the 1000m. Sir Elmo (A Jones) was comfortable over 1200m in 1:14.1 and 43.5.

On the all-weather track, Jubilate (Sapsworth) and  Luckytobecool (Grylls) strode out nicely together over 1000m in 1:05.5 and 37.3 for the last 600m. Makarska (Coleman) and Irish Moon (K Jones) covered the same distance in 1:08.4 and 37.7, while Fix (K Jones) went solo in 1:09 and 38.1.
