Matamata Thursday Trackwork

Queen's Rose looked fit and well at Matamata this morning ahead of her weekend assignment in the Taranaki Breeder's Stakes at Hawera.  Galloping 15 metres out on a slow course proper after nine mls of rain overnight, Queen's Rose (Sapsworth) was keen as she ran home from the 600m in 40.5, handling the going well and strong through the line.

Race rival Pussy O'Reilly (Coleman) also looked bright as she went over 1000m in 1:13.5 and 42.4. The Fire Inside (C Ormsby) looked well preparing for next week's Tauranga meeting as she galloped 1000m in 1:15.6 and 44.

Team Wealleans Matamata Cup entry Miss Mossman (Grylls) was nicely in hand over 1200m in 1:26 and 41.2. Among other runners preparing for Saturday's local meeting, Highly Likely (Lammas) and Longbeach (Cameron), hit out on the course proper. Highly Likely was well held over 1200m in 1:35.4 and 43 for the final 600m, while Longbeach was timed in 1:11.4 for his 1000m.

On the sand O'Reilly's Gold (P Brosnan) caught the eye over1000m in 1:03.7 and the final 600m in a smart 37. Over the same distance Nothing Trivial (J Leveque) returned 1:06.4 and 37.7, Kaleidoscope (Wong) was not extended in 1:11 and 40.2, Keep Rocking (Roff) took 1:07.8 and 39.6, Dahl's Delight (P Brosnan) 1:08 and 39.1, and Ruby Red Shoes (M Brosnan) with Vindaloo (Roff) in 1:09.5 and 38.1.

Whosyourmaster (Wong) was in good form on the sand over 1200m, stopping the clock at 1:26 and 39.2 while stablemate Irish Encore (Grylls) covered the same distance in 1:23 and 43.. She will resume at Rotorua next weekend.

On the all-weather track, home track contender Taaxman (Gillies) stretched out evenly over 1000m in 1:13.3 and 40.7. Ali (R Jones) galloped with a three-year-old Royal Gem filly over 1000m in 1:04 and 37, while Storm Bro (Grylls) was timed at 38.9 for his last 600m.
