Matamata Tuesday Trackwork

On a busy course proper at Matamata this morning, where the markers were out 25 metres and the going dead, Annie Higgins (Dowling) galloped with Everlong (C Ormsby) as she prepared for Saturday's Waikato Times Gold Cup.

Everlong set off a couple of lengths in front and Annie Higgins worked up to be on terms on the line in a time of 1:21.5 for the 1200m and 38.5 the final 600m. The defending Waikato Times Gold Cup title-holder, Annie Higgins has trained on well from her Counties Cup win.

Bronte Lass (Cameron) galloped with King Savinsky (Hercock) in preparation for Te Rapa, covering 1200m in 1:21.5 and 38. In similar work, Liberare (C Ormsby) started a 1200m gallop two lengths clear of The Fire Inside (Coleman), both stopping the clock at 1:23.5, 1:05 for the 1000m and 39.8 the final 600m.

Also from the in-form Moroney-Ormsby stable, Stella's Honour (C Ormsby) went in company with She's Samashing (P Ormsby), galloping 1200m in 1:22.8 and finished the final 600m comfortably in 39.3.

Tiger Moss (Blair) and Irish Encore (Donnelly) covered 1000m in 1:05 and 38.3, while Touch of Ruby (Brown) prepared for Tauranga on Friday in company with Taaxman (R Jones), striding out nicely in 1:04 and 38.5.

Wisecrack (Jones) worked solo in preparation for Hastings on Thursday, striding out nicely over his last 1000m in 1:05.4 and 37.8.

Forefront (K Myers) was strong galloping his last 600m in 38.8 and Only A Rose (Coleman) did similar work in 38.7. Ronan (Brosnan) galloped 1200m in 1:23.8 and 40.1 and stablemate Little Chief (Roff) covered the same ground in 1:22.5 and 40.3.

Hassle Free (Dowling) and Little Miss Waitoki (Wong) matched strides over 1200m in 1:21.8 and the final 600m in 38.6. My Mestari (Roff) accompanied Savarhys over 1000m in 1:05.8 and 38.7.

Hidden Secret (Jones) went solo to cover 1000m in 1:10.1 and 39.8. Agent Ziva (A Jones) did similar work in 1:09.6 and 39.8. Makarska (Coleman) had the edge over stablemate Quest (K Jones) as they ran their final 600m in 39.8.

Wairaka (Chiong) and Dubai Shuffle (Sapsworth) were evenly matched over 1200m in 1:20 and 39.1 for the final 600m. Jubilate (Sapsworth) and Roc de Chine (C Grylls) covered the same distance in 1:18.5 and 38.7, while Copacabana (C Grylls) and Living The Dream (Sapsworth) were a shade quicker covering 1000m in 1:05.4 and 38.6.

I'll'ava'alf (A Jones) covered 1200m with Sworntoperfection (K Myers) in 1:22 and 38.9. Immigration (Chiong) and Anyx (Sapsworth) went 1000m in 1:06.8 and 38.5 in hand. High Tower (C Grylls) looked fit dashing 1000m in 1:04.1 and 38.3.

On the all-weather track Madam Kirk (Goodwin) looked ready for her Tauranga assignment on Friday when covering 800m in 50 and running home the final 600m in 36.8. Pussy O'Reilly (K Jones) and Powerplaya (Coleman) worked 1200m in 1:15.2 and 36.5.

Kickbuttowski (S McKay) and Culto La Vida (P McKay) went the same distance in 1:17.1 and came home the final 600m in 37.5 while Sinister Man (Wratten) and Full Monty (Sapsworth) stopped the clock at 1:19 and 36.4 for the 1200m. Night Wager and Call Me Maybe covered 1000m in 1:07.5 and 37.3.

Alvesta (P McKay) and Estrato (S McKay) took time honours on the sand, clocking 800m in 49 and the final 600m in 36.3. Rio Rose (R Jones) covered the same ground in 51 and 36.5. Roll With Pulse (Ormsby) and Passing Parade (McNab) were solid over 1000m in 1:02.7 and 36.6.

Also on the sand, Merrily (Hercock) and Tiara (Cameron) prepared for Tauranga Friday with a 1200m gallop in 1:21.5 and the final 600m in 37.6. Stablemates Osmunda (Cameron) and Ruthless Lady (Hercock) did similar work in 1:21.2 and 38.5.

Brandy (A Jones) and Bahrella (Conder) covered the same distance in a steady 1:31 and 40.5. Hinuera (Brosnan) worked in hand to cover 1000m in 1:05.6.
