Matamata Tuesday Trackwork

She's A Thief looked in tune for Ellerslie on Saturday when she galloped stylishly at Matamata this morning.

Working 15 metres out a dead course proper, She's A Thief
(Bayliss) was deceptive as she cut out 1000m in 1:03 and completed the gallop
with a final 600m section in 35.6. The Moroney/Gerard-trained filly doesn't
need to improve much on her last-start fourth in the Mongolian Khan Trophy to
be a winning chance in Saturday's three-year-old sprint.

The majority of work took place on the plough, where Prise De Fer (Bosson) and In A Twinkling (Miller) prepared for the Avondale Guineas with solid work over 1200m in 1:18.7, with the last 1000m in 1:03.4 and 600m in 36.8. Both Jamie Richards-trained three-year-olds are shaping up well in the build-up to the New Zealand Derby.

Spring Heat (Grylls) and Autumn Wild (Miles) shaped up well for Ellerslie as they left 1000m behind in 1:01.2 and 35.9. Avondale Cup rivals Chance To Dance (Bosson) and Andoyas (Danis) were paired over 1200m in 1:18.5, 1:03.7 and 37.

Last-start winner Roll The Dice (C Ormsby) wasn't asked for a lot ahead of the Avondale Guineas, cutting out his last 1000m in 1:07.6 and 600m in 37. Miss Scandinavia (Kamaruddin) and Enduring Love (Bosson) caught the eye over 1000m in 1:03.4 and 36.2, while Resurgent (Grylls) got through his work well as he strode over 1200m in 1:22.7, 1:06.2 and 38.8.

Supera (Donoghue) continued her preparation towards next week's Otaki Group One when she and Wide Awake (Nason) covered 1200m in 1:21.5, 1:05.3 and 36.8. Ellerslie entries Raspberry Sweet (Handley) and Vichy (Hashizume) covered the same ground in 1:20.4, 1:05.2 and 38, while Armano (Grylls) was well held to return 1:26.4, 1:10.2 and 39.5.

Garados (Tynan) and Virtuoso Lad (A Jones) also worked over
ground, recording 1:24.2, 1:06 and 37. In similar work Swiss Maid (Hashizume)
and Mahalo (Handley) took 1:24.5, 1:07.3 and 38.2, and Iffraajinator (A Jones)
1:25.7, 1:09.2 and 39.

Over 1000m Roll The Gold (Fawcett) clocked 1:08.5 and 38, Nothing Trivial (R Cole) 1:08.8 and 39.6, and Je Suis Tiger (Fawcett) 1:08.4 and 39.2.
