Matamata Tuesday Trackwork

Recollect and Angelica looked in good order for upcoming engagements when they galloped together on the course proper at Matamata this morning. With the markers out 25 metres and the going heavy, fast times were out of the question, but Recollect (Wratten) and Angelica (Danis) impressed nonetheless over 1200m in 1:24.6, with the last 1000m in 1:09.8 and 600m in 41.4. Recollect appears to have trained on well since her fresh-up win last month and heads to Te Rapa on the weekend, while promising maiden Angelica will run at Te Teko next Wednesday.

Trueman (Winter), who resumes at Te Rapa on Saturday, caught the eye when he and Pearl Davone (McCall) cut out 1000m in 1:08.5 and 600m in 39.8. Over the same ground Conclusion (Miller) and Summer Monsoon (Burdan) recorded 1:09.7 and 39.3, while Te Rapa candidate Fortune Patch (Donoghue) was untested in 1:14.2 and 41.6.

Richard Of York (Burdan) was strong at the line after he and stablemates Bak Da Master (Miller) and Al Haram (A Jones) had completed 1200m in 1:25.5, 1:09.1 and 39.4. Also over ground, Soroc (Fawcett) took 1:24.3, 1:08.8 and 41 for his last 1200m.

Te Rapa entry Ciao Siu Bao (Donoghue) was held together throughout 1200m in 1:26.4, 1:10.7 and 41, while Star Treasure (Donoghue) and Wild Seas (Hepi) were restricted to 1000m in 1:18.7 and 45.6. 

Parvina (Fawcett) and a Star Witness gelding (Danis) got through 1200m in 1:26.4, 1:10.5 and 42.6. Rhapsody In Blue (Miller) and Brymaar (A Jones) were timed over their last 800m in 57 and 41.6. 

On the sand Goboniego (Tierney) looked bright when she worked solo over 1000m in 1:05.2 and 600m in 36.8.

Liquid Inspiration (Danis) prepared for Te Rapa with a well-held 1000m in 1:08.2 and 38.4, while stablemates Lock It In (Danis) and Don't Doubt Me (Burdan) had more pace on when recording 1:05.4 and 37.2.
