Matamata Tuesday Trackwork

Viadana confirmed her fitness for the Zabeel Classic with a sound final gallop at Matamata this morning.

On a good plough Viadana (Dowling) worked over ground, gradually increasing the tempo to run her last 1200m in 1:26.9, 1000m in 1:09.7 and hitting the line after a final 600m in 37.8. The Lance Noble-trained mare is in good order for the step up to a middle-distance in the Ellerslie Boxing Day feature

Bronte Lass (Hercock) prepared for Ellerslie on Saturday with a solid 1200m in 1:19.2, 1000m in 1:03.4 and 600m in 36.8. Second day runners Waitoki Flower (S Wong) and Keep In Tune (R Jones) put on the pace over 1200m in 1:16.2, 1000m in 1:01.6 and 600m in 36.5.

Total Response (C Ormsby), the winner of her last two starts ahead of Boxing Day, worked well over 1200m in 1:20.8, 1:06.2 and 38.3. Stoneleigh (K Hillis) and Culto La Vida (S McKay), runners at Rotorua on Friday, cut out a smart 1000m in 1:025 and 36.4, while Flying Fantasy (C Ormsby) returned 1:03.6 and 36.2.

Jason Bridgman's Ellerslie three-year-old feature runners were all kept to three-quarter-pace, looking bright as they went through their paces. Eight Carat Classic runner Stella's Honour (C Ormsby) ran the last 1000m of her work in 1:06.6 and 600m in 37.5. Brave Centaur (Dowling), who runs next in the Rich Hill Mile on New Year's Day, went evenly over 1200m in 1:18.9, 1000m in 1:04.5 and 600m in 37.4.

Donny Brasco (P McKay) and Al Pacino (S McKay) went freely over 1000m in 1:02.8 and 36.2, while Malina (Dowling) and Packing Express (S Wong) ran the same distance in 1:04 and 37.2. Rotorua runners Miss Mossman (Roff) and Deschabeel (Hepi) also did good work over 1000m in 1:03.6 and 36.4.

Svavarsson (Hepi) and My Mestari (Roff) got through solid work for Rotorua over 1200m in 1:19.7, 1:04.1 and 37.5, while Persuasive (O'Sullivan) and Foxy Belle (K Jones) prepared for their Rotorua engagements with 1200m in 1:23.4 and 600m in 37.8.

Ellerslie first day runner Irish Encore (K Jones) wasn't after time over 1200m in 1:26.2, 1:09 and 38.2. Oompa (R Jones) and Yes (P Turner), unraced members of the Glenn Old team, looked the part in their work over 1000m in 1:02.6 and 35.9. Stablemate Our Famous Eve (Coleman), who looks well after a let-up, strode over 1200m in 1:24.9 and 40.3.

Hassle Free (Dowling) and King's Fortune (S Wong) wasted no time over 1200m in 1:18,2, 1:03.8 and 36.9, while Bachelor Keen (Sapsworth) covered the same ground more sedately in 1:25.8 and 41.2. Rio Rose (Blair) was keen in her work over 1000m in 1:01.7 and 36.8.

Rotorua entry Sovereign Rose (Hercock) cut out 1200m in 1:26.6 and 41.5, while Super Thunder (Wright) took 1:21.2 and 39.4, Fiftyshadesofgrey (P Turner) 1:22.5 and 37.8, and Kaleidoscope (O'Sullivan) 1:24.7 and 39. Immigration (Sapsworth) and Full Monty (Wratten) caught the eye over 1200m in 1:17.7 and 36.5.

Little Chief (M Brosnan) and Ronan (Roff) ran freely over 1000m to record 1:02.6 and 37.5, while High Tower (H McQuade) took 1:04.3 and 37.8, Beauty Show (R Jones) and Always On My Mind (Dowling) 1:02.8 and 37, and Fast 'N' Gorgeous (Sapsworth) 1:06.7 and 38.7.

Cajero (Hazlett) rattled off slick sectionals over 800m in 49.4 and 600m in 35.8, while Estelle (P Ormsby) clocked 52.5 and 37.6.  Newmarket Handicap runner Whosyourmaster (Coleman) was kept to 1200m in 1:22.8 and 37.2, Needlly (S Wong) left 1000m behind in 1:13.6 and 39.3, and Opt (O'Sullivan) and Strike Back (Blair) covered 1200m in 1:23.9 and 37.8.

On the all-weather track Wisecrack (K Jones) continued his City Of Auckland Cup preparation as he stretched out over 1200m in 1:26.3 and 39.5. Stablemate Bounding (B Grylls), whose New Year's Day assignment is the Railway Stakes, was travelling strongly at the end of 800m in 54.5 and 600m in 39.2.

Lucky Feather (Goodwin) and Sky Hi Baby (Holmquist), runners at Ellerslie on Saturday, covered 1000m in 1:08.4 and 38.2, and Direct Line (P Ormsby) took 1:04.6 and 36.2. Fix (K Jones) was well held over the same distance to record 1:13 and 39.8.

Dubai Shuffle (Sapsworth) got through 1200m in 1:21.7 and 39.2. Choice One Jonesy (H McQuade) ran the same trip in 1:25 and 40.8.

Other gallops: 1200m plough: Revelator (P Ormsby) 1:25, 39.6; Belleza Irlandesa (K McQuade) 1:18.8, 37.2; Everlong (C Ormsby) 1:17.9, 36.2; Quest (K Jones) 1:29.8, 42.4.

1000m plough: Habitual Offender (C Ormsby) 1:09.7, 39.6; Secret Whisper (B Lang) 1:07.8, 37.2; Seagold (W Hillis) 1:07.2, 39.4; Nothing Trivial (K Hillis) 1:06.6, 39.9.
