Matamata Tuesday Trackwork

Vibrant Moss looked on target to complete a hat-trick at Tauranga on the weekend when she galloped impressively at Matamata this morning.

Galloping 28m out on a heavy course proper, Vibrant Moss (B Lang) had no trouble with the conditions as she covered 1000m in 1:10.8, with her final 600m in 41.7. Even allowing that she had first use of the track it was smart work by the Shailer-trained filly, who has thrived since her wins at Tauranga at Ellerslie and will run in the R85 sprint on Saturday.

Immigration (Coleman) underlined her Tauranga prospects with smart work in company with Te Awamutu Sunday candidate Arnold (Sapsworth), cutting out 1200m in 1:22.4, 1000m in 1:07.7 and 600m in 40.3. Peregrine (Sapsworth), another from the Richardson stable heading to Tauranga, worked impressively with Te Awamutu entry Letmeby (Coleman) over 1200m in 1:22.7, 1:08.4 and 40.2.

She's Bubbly (S Collett) prepared for Tauranga in company with Flash Forward (J Collett) over a soundly run 1200m in 1:21.3, 1:07.3 and 41.5. Tauranga entries Roll With Pulse (C Ormsby) and Clos De Tart (Hercock) worked from the 1000m in 1:10.5 and quickened readily for a final 600m in 40.6.

Augusta National (Dowling) and Waitoki Flower (R Jones) left 1200m behind in 1:24.6, 1000m in 1:09.8 and their final 600m in a deceptive 40.7. Over the same ground Ginja Ninja (B Grylls) and Quantum Maelstrom (Sapsworth) returned 1:23, 1:09.2 and 41.6.

On the sand, Sir Elmo (A Jones) shaped up well for Tauranga when running the last 1000m of his work in 1:07.2 and 600m in 38.6. Glitzabeel (M Brosnan) and Keep Rocking (Roff) strode over 1200m in 1:21.4, with their last 1000m in 1:05.5 and 600m in 37.8.
Strike Back (Mann) and Prize Lad (J Wong) prepared for their respective Tauranga and Te Awamutu engagements with 1200m in 1:25.6, 1000m in 1:09.2 and 600m in 38.8.

Dating (W Hillis) cut out 1000m in 1:06.6 and 38.8, while Miss Chief (M Brosnan) and Sea Fury (Roff) took 1:07.6 and 38.8, and Dahls Delight (P Brosnan) and Jewelled Promise (Brick) 1:07.2 and 38.5.

Jordanian Prince (H McQuade) was not after time over 1000m in 1:10.4 and 41.5, while Centavada (A Jones) and a Colombia filly (Cole) took 1:13.2 and 40.8.

On the all-weather track Le Bon Fin (Goodwin) finished solid work with 1200m in 1:20.4, 1000m in 1:05.5 and 600m in 37.6. Sunbeam (Coleman), another for Tauranga, was paired with Woodsman (R Jones) in good work over 1000m in 1:05.2 and 37.4.  Ira Bean (McRae) strode over two rounds and was timed for the last 1000m in 1:21.5, 1000m in 1:07.3 and 600m in 39.5.
