Mehzebeen on Exhibition

Te Akau trainers Mark Walker & Sam Bergerson took the opportunity to give Mehzebeen (5 m Almanzor – Salkantay, by Zabeel) an exhibition gallop between races at Matamata on Friday - ahead of her second-up assignment in the $65,000 Open Handicap 2000 metres on Saturday 28 September at Hastings.

Runner-up in the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) as a three-year-old, and the Taupo Cup (Open Handicap, 2000m) winner last season, she was ridden by Te Akau stable rider Opie Bosson ONZM and had Group 2 Rich Hill Mile winner Mali Ston (El Roca) as a partner in the exhibition.

They worked on terms throughout, over 1200 metres in 1:16.4, 1:02.3 for 1000m, 800m in 49.6, and last 600m in 37.7, each stretching out nicely over the concluding stages.
