Only Time Ever

You may remember that the day before David's illness (writes Karyn) he purchased a gorgeous Flying Spur filly at the Gold Coast Sale.  By a Golden Slipper winner, David and Mark Walker were really taken with this filly.

Just the 17th yearling into the arena, Lot 1417 was knocked down to David for A$46,000 - a terrific buy for the filly by Flying Spur from America's Idol.   With David Ellis, Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker commented to me at the time:

"Karyn this filly, she's a stunner, a real Matamata Breeders' Stakes type filly (and he has won four of these remember - Ed) who has the scope to train on to be a 1000 Guineas filly as a 3YO, she's top class."

I took it upon myself to sell the shares in this filly while David was ill and was delighted when she was keenly snapped up.  A new off-shore owner contacted me and wished to buy 45% of this filly and I was thrilled to welcome him to Te Akau.

Unfortunately he has let me down - this has never happened before and I am really disappointed because in life it is good to take people on trust.  However, it means that due to this unique set of circumstances, these shares are again available in her.

The good news is that I can tell you that her stablename is "Doll" because she is - and James Jackson who has been breaking her in (he also broke in Darci Brahma) said to me today "she's fabulous Karyn, I love her".

She came home to Te Akau Stud from Australia, settled in brilliantly and has flown through her breaking in.  In fact tomorrow she will head towards our stable for the next stage of her early education.

A 10% share in this promising lass costs approximately $8000 NZD and I can tell you that she looks incredible and has completed everything thus far in truly professional fashion.

I'd love you to be involved with us in her - please contact me - [email protected] if you would like to take advantage of this rare and very disappointing event - and have a share in a very special girl!
