Recharged Cameron Ready

The Informant reports:

Champion jockey Matt Cameron has arrived back from a two-week holiday revitalised for what lies ahead in the new season.

Cameron successfully defended his career-first 2013-14 premiership title with 154 wins and a margin of 18 over Danielle Johnson in the just completed season. While he's making no predictions for a hat-trick, he's keen to get back to business, beginning with trackwork at Matamata on Tuesday morning followed by a big trials programme at Te Teko.

“I'm feeling good after another great season and a welcome break,” Cameron told The Informant when he and his partner Blair Alexander landed in Auckland. “We had 10 days in Hawaii and the last few days in San Francisco, where Blair had some business to attend to.

“My first day back at the races will be Matamata on Friday and I've got to check in with my agent Mike Brown to decide whether I'm riding at Tauranga or Riccarton on Saturday.”
