Riccarton Park trackwork update - Thursday 2 November -
Heavy fog prevented timing fast work for the first hour of this morning's session. Apart from fog the conditions were dry and tracks open included both the plough and the big trial grass where the markers were three-quarters of the way out where the going was firm.
Those working in the fog included Riding Shotgun, Swiss Dream, Bob'sthejob, Khorabella, Hannah Marene, Frazzle, Margarita Mover and Majorca. Most of the best times were again recorded on the grass with best of the morning coming from Sensei (Moore) and Saronic Miss (Shaikh) which galloped together from the 800m in 48.3 with the final 600m in 33.7.
Prince Ransome (Gundowry) and Lucky Edie (Shaikh) scorched over 800m on the grass together in an impressive 46.8, the final 400m in 22.5. The unraced two-year-old Miroslava (Shaikh) caught the eye when she went alone from the 800m in 46.9, the final 600m in 34.7. She is set to tackle the Welcome Stakes in making her debut.
Motukarara acceptors Pipiana (Moore) and Aquazurra (Morgan) both continue to improve in fitness and were timed from the 1000m in 1.04.5, the final 600m in 34.9. Another Pitman trained pair was Mahana (Moore) and Smile (Morgan) who were timed together on the grass over 800m in 49.6, finishing strongly from the 600m in 34.5.
