Riccarton Trackwork Update

Riccarton Park trackwork highlights - Thursday 26 October -

Overnight rain measured at 4.5mls was enough to put the plough out of action but only to take the jar out of the big trial grass which was open for fast work.
Best of the morning came from the Pitman trained Son Of Maher (Moore) which galloped with Enzo's Lad (Shaikh) over 1000m in 1.01.7, finishing the gallop strongly over the last 600m in 34.1. Son Of Maher will be hard to beat in the Coupland Bakeries Trial over 1400m on Saturday.

My Typhon (Moore) and Elfee (Wynne) impressed when they were timed from the 800m in 46.9, the last 600m taking 34.3. Both will also run on Saturday in the R75 over 1200m along with Enzo's Lad. Zakynthos (Moore) and Barabas (Wynne) were paired over 800m in 48.2, the last 600m in 34.7 with Zakynthos edging out his companion at the end of the gallop and showing he is improved from last season.

The Tony Prendergast trained Vantaa (Williams) and Who Dares Wins (Wynne) impressed when they were timed together from the 600m in 34.8. They will both contest the first at Riccarton on Saturday. Producer (Burnett) and an unnamed Keeper filly (Alton) from the Brian Court stable went together over 800m in 48.3, the last 600m in 34.3. Fairlight (Didham) caught the eye when he galloped with an unnamed companion over 800m in 46.9, getting to the finish strongly clocking 34.5 for the last 600m.

Boots ‘N' All (Wynne) had its final hit-out for Saturday when he went solo from the 800m in 47.9, coming home the last 600m in 34.2. Devious (Coster) which contests Saturday's 800m two-year-old race was breezed-up over 400m in 23.7. Her rival in that race Avantage (Newman) from the Te Akau stable was three-quarter paced only with stablemate Lady Amadeus (Miller).

Smile (Shaikh) and Mahana (Hong) sprinted-up well over 800m in 47.0, the last 600m in 34.5. Director (Alton) went alone and was timed from the 800m in 49.9, the last 600m in 36.7. He will contest the last on Saturday in which he will be opposed by the Lance Robinson trained Blue Print (L Robinson) who was paired with Volcano (Morris) over 800m in 49.5, the final 600m in 35.3. Volcano is an acceptor in the Coupland's Trial.

Mayfair Madam (Cameron) and Hannah Marene (Carston) galloped together from the 800m in 50.1, the final 600m in 35.3. Twoznotenough (Morris) and Just A Jacket (Krall) went together from the 800m in 49.4, the final 600m in 36.2.  Savannah Gem (Yatim) went alone over 600m in 36.9. Not Available (Scarlet) also went solo over 800m in 51.3, the last 600m in 37.3. Roc The Cradle (Olwagen) and Oh Nova (Cameron) were timed to run 600m together in 36.8.

Hot Fuss (Robertson) was given an easy task over 400m in 27.5. Stablemate Son Of Zac also wasn't asked for much when galloping 800m in 53.7, the last 600m in 37.8. Platinum Command (Cameron) went early in the session over 800m in 51.0. Shocktillyoudrop (Carston) was given an easy time over 800m in 56.0, the last 600m in 40.1. Zentessa (Coster) was timed from the 1200m in 1.29.8, the last 600m in 42.6. Aryacrazy (White) went over 800m in 55.7.

O'Kiwi (Gundowry) looked strong when he went solo from the 800m in 48.0, the final 600m in 35.5. Night Nurse (Moore) has worked well going into Satutrday's race and again recorded good time over 800m in 48.5, the last 600m in 35.3. Upperhand (Alton) was alone over 800m in 50.2, the last 600m in 36.7. La Seyne (Coster) and Mr Tool (Robertson) galloped together from the 800m in 50.2, the last 600m in 37.3.

Gloss (Wynne) and Queen Serene (Moore) were paired together late in the session over 1000m in 1.05.4, upping the tempo over the last 600m in 35.7. Coup Dreamland (Shaikh) continued to impress when he was paired with an unnamed Al Maher colt (Gundowry) over 1000m in 1.01.4,, the final 600m in 36.2. Aquazurra (Hong) was timed from the 800m in 50.4, the last 600m in 36.3. Anzac Coup (Hong) wasn't extended over 800m in 52.8, the last 600m in 38.1.

Paris Awaits (Callaway) went 800m in 51.6, the last 600m in 36.9. Dressed To Kill (Olwagen) was timed from the 600m in 36.1. Troy Boy (Jonker) was another to go solo over 800m which took 52.2, the last 600m in 37.9. Thunder Bay (Shaikh) galloped from the 600m in 37.7. Wafer (Kwo) went an easy 800m in 56.5, the last 600m in 41.3.

Prince Ramson (Hong) was timed from the 1000m in 1.05.5, the last 600m in 35.9. No Emotion (Shaikh) showed he is getting fitter when timed from the 1000m in 1.15.5, the last 600m in 36.2. Killa Question (Moore) went alone over 600m in 36.6.

Pipiana (Shaikh) and Pinup Coup (Gundowry) were timed from the 1000m together in 1.02, the last 600m in 37.5. Jewel of Jumeriah (Kwo) ran over 800m in 50.5, the last 600m in 37.0. First of A Kind (Callaway) went 1000m alone in 1.16.8. Pendleton (Coster) went 800m in 55.6. Swing Note (Miller) for the same journey took 54.2 and Grazia (Newman) soon after was timed over 800m in 53.5. What A Deezer (Jonker) was partnered with Honour That (Robertson) were timed only from the 600m together in 37.3.

Macario (Shaikh) galloped alone from the 1000m in 1.04.3, the last 600m in 37.7. Maui Miss (Coster) went 800m in 52.9, the final 600m in 38.6. Kwezi (Callaway) went two laps on the sand, galloping strongly on the second. Wise Move also impressed when galloping strongly at the end of his work on the sand.
