DON'T MISS THIS GIRL!!!
David & the team snapped her up at the Magic Millions' sale this week! She's NZ bound to race from our Matamata stable ...
This beautifully balanced filly is by North Pacific, a top-class son of Brazen Beau — himself a Group 1-winning son of I Am Invincible, Australia’s reigning Champion Sire and one of the most influential stallions on the global stage. North Pacific hails from a blazing-hot Northern Dancer sire line, and his race record was both consistent and elite. He was a precocious juvenile, placing in the Group 2 Silver Slipper (1100m), and as a three-year-old, he was a Group 1 runner-up in the Golden Rose (1400m), after winning the Group 3 Up and Coming Stakes (1300m) in explosive style.
North Pacific’s sire Brazen Beau has already left a strong mark at Te Akau — most notably through On The Bubbles, a $90,000 yearling purchase by David Ellis CNZM who delivered one of the most dominant Karaka Million 2YO (RL, 1200m) wins in recent memory. Brazen Beau was also Australia’s Leading Second Season Sire by stakes winners, highlighting his ability to upgrade mares and leave genuine talent on the track.
Adding more depth to this pedigree, North Pacific’s dam Up In Lights is by O’Reilly, the late, great New Zealand Champion Broodmare Sire, whose presence consistently adds class and durability to any family.
This filly is the first foal of Linden, a winning daughter of Pride of Dubai — the sire of reigning Australian Horse of the Year Pride of Jenni. That gives her a direct link to Street Cry, the sire of the incomparable Winx (25 Group 1 wins), reinforcing just how much depth and distinction runs through this family.
The maternal line keeps delivering: her grand-dam Corsa Rosa was a six-time winner to 1200m by Dubawi, the world’s second highest-rated sire, and her third dam Rosellini brings in the blood of breed-shaping stallion Danehill.
“She’s a stunning filly with real presence and an air of quality about her,” said David Ellis CNZM. “For the price, she represents exceptional value – her pedigree is full of winners, she comes from a strong line of proven broodmare sires, and we’ve had a great track record with first foals. She’s an exciting addition to the team," said David Ellis.
